MACNA 2022 New Aquarium Products Recap

CoralVue attended MACNA Milwaukee in September 2022 and proudly displayed several of its exclusive brands. Many of these brands showcased new products, including Reef Octopus, Kamoer, AutoAqua, IceCap, and HYDROS, while others, such as Fauna Marin, Abyzz, Seneye, and ITC Reefculture, proudly displayed popular new products that were launched earlier in the year. Various products were showcased, including pumps, algae turf scrubbers, aquarium controllers, water treatments, and more. Below is a recap of these items.

IceCap Algae Turf Scrubbers

IceCap introduces a new series of Pro Algae Turf Scrubbers. Using algae as a natural filter, these devices can efficiently remove nitrate, phosphate, and other pollutants from aquarium water. The new design features low-watt LED trays that produce an even distribution of algae-loving light. These new external, in-sump, and hang-on-back (HOB) scrubbers include the pump and feeding tubing.

The IceCap Algae Turf Scrubbers will be available in the fall of 2022.

IceCap Nano 50 Hang-on-Back Protein Skimmer

The impressively slim profile of the IceCap Nano 50 Hang-On-Back Protein Skimmer is the ideal candidate for small aquariums of up to 65 gallons. The shape of the skimmer body requires minimal space behind the aquarium and can be easily placed on surfaces up to a half-inch thick. Enjoy the quiet operation and adjustment provided by the submerged output valve.

Reef Octopus VarioS 10 Return Pump & Controller

In August 2022, Reef Octopus announced a new return pump, VarioS 10 that comes with a new OCTO controller. The VarioS 10 return pump features a new detachable controller, a high-quality ceramic shaft and bearing to reduce wear and tear, and the latest variable speed flow technology for refined control, enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and safer operations.

The VarioS 10 return pump and OCTO Controller will be available in 2023.

HYDROS Control XD, Control X10, and More

CoralVue HYDROS is cultivating the future of aquarium automation with four new devices. The HYDROS universe now includes three new controllers, the Control XD, Control X10, and the Kraken. This growing aquarium controller brand also welcomes a new accessory for pH, Salinity, and Alkalinity testing, the HYDROS iV. The HYDROS Control XD, X10, Kraken, and HYDROS iV will be available in 2023.

Seneye Reef, Pond, and Home Monitor Kits

Seneye showcased its Reef, Pond, and Home Monitor Kits. All devices monitor ammonia, pH, and other vital water parameters. The Reef monitor kit also includes PAR readings. All data is saved on a Seneye dashboard for easy viewing. Seneye also offers a hassle-free way to collect pH and ammonia readings without needing calibration by using their Seneye+ disposable slides.

ITC Reefculture Reef Delete and PARwise

Reef Delete is ITC Reefculture's pest control device that safely eliminates aiptasia, algae, flatworms, and more from reef aquariums thanks to its powerful UV-C beam. Also showcased at MACNA, is the new PARwise device. It is an affordable and easy-to-use PAR meter that shows wavelength and intensity. PARwise is expected to enter the U.S. market in 2023.

ICP Analysis Mass Spec Water Test

As one of the presenting sponsors of MACNA, all attendees were fortunate to receive a free Mass Spec ICP Test. This ICP Mass Spec will test a saltwater aquarium’s water for 50 elements down to the parts per trillion (ppt), surpassing the accuracy of any hobby-level test kits and 1000x more accurate than traditional ICP OES tests. The test also includes free return shipping for added convenience. This new ICP Mass Spec Test was released earlier this year.

Fauna Marin Ready2Reef, Bacto Balls, Sea Salt, ICP Tests, and More

Fauna Marin showcased several of its products at MACNA, including the new Ready2Reef all-in-one dosing solution, professional Sea Salt, and water tests. Also getting a lot of attention from MACNA attendees was Fauna Marin's Bacto Balls. Each ball contains reef bacteria and enzymes that reduce ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphates resulting in crystal clear and healthy reef aquarium water. Simply toss two Bacto Balls in the sump and check back in two weeks. It's that easy.

AutoAqua Smart ATO Lifter and New Smart Security Sensors

Smart ATO Lifter by AutoAquas offers powerful performance and excellent functionality at an affordable price point. The system features a silent AQUA Lifter Pump and a brand-new ATO controller, rugged construction, and easy maintenance and installation.

Additionally, AutoAqua released updated versions of their Smart Sensors, including Smart Level Security, Smart Temp Security, and Smart Skimmer Security sensors.

Abyzz A1200 Controllable DC Pump and the AFC150 Flow Pump

Carlos from CoralVue experiences firsthand the power of the Abyzz A1200 DC Pump. The pump is amazingly powerful, with a rated flow rate of 12,700 gallons per hour and a maximum flow rate of 18,000 GPH! It comes with an IP65-rated splash-proof controller that is built to withstand the harsh aquatic environments around aquariums and ponds.

Also on display is the new AFC150 Flow Pump that was released earlier this year. The AFC150 pump is built of commercial-grade materials and designed to move massive amounts of water in large-scale aquariums.

Kamoer KH Carer

Kamoer offers a new automatic water testing device, the KH Carer, for measuring alkalinity. Its features include a manual and automatic detection function, a 2.8-inch display screen, and more. The device can also adjust KH values automatically according to the test results. Users can easily view the test results and set the test parameters in either an Android or iOS app.

The Kamoer KH Carer will be available in 2023.
