Red Sea has been active in the aquarium hobby for over 25 years. Their commitment to reef-keeping is unsurpassed.

More recently the company has focused on making the use of their supplements easier by creating what they call “recipes.” The recipe system uses four classifications of saltwater aquariums: Fish only, mixed reef, ultra-low nutrient and SPS dominant. Based on the type of aquarium, Red Sea provides dosing instructions for each of their liquid supplements.

Foundation A, B, and C elements include calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity. For corals, color-enhancing and tissue-building are enhanced by adding easy to use minor and trace elements. Trace Colors A,B, C, and D are four liquids that provide 31 elements for corals and other reef-building invertebrates and encrusting algae.

To reduce algae-promoting nutrients, NO3:PO4-X stimulates the bacterial consumption of phosphate and nitrate. This liquid carbon source causes heterotrophic bacteria to grow and consume phosphate and nitrate.

The Red Sea trace elements and Foundation additives are available in kits and individual products.

The Reef Mature starter kit completes the biological maturation process by establishing thriving colonies of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria along with phosphate consuming bacteria. Your tank’s live rock and within a sand bed will mature into a stable life-sustaining biological filter.

Red Sea

For over 25 years Red Sea has been creating innovative marine and reef aquarium products for the hobby. The company’s main objective is to make reef-keeping easy and enjoyable. To that end, Red Sea’s R&D team developed a full range of water test kits, coral foods, reef supplements, filter media, reef substrates and marine salts. Red Sea also offer a series of Reef Care Recipes designed to help you through the set-up and care of your reef aquarium. Red Sea’s Max, Reefer and Peninsula series of reef-ready aquarium systems are one of the most popular aquariums in the hobby. You’ll also find stand-alone water pumps, lighting and protein skimmers so you can customize your own aquarium.
