The Klir Fleece Filter provides a dramatic improvement over traditional filter socks. Unlike other traditional filters, the Klir system uses a roll of fleece. As water passes through it, the organic material gets trapped and locked within the fibers.
Rather than allowing the filter to clog and release pollutants, the Klir filter automatically rolls up and removes the dirty filter from the water stream. A new clean section of fresh fleece replaces it, continuing the filtration process. Nutrients and organics are removed from the water and the aquarium stays crystal clear.
The Klir filter is a direct replacement for filter socks on sumps with sock trays. Simply remove your sock and insert the Klir. As water passes through the Klir filter and the filtering material becomes saturated with waste, the water level will begin to rise. When the water makes contact with the optical sensor, a motor is activated to advance clean filtering material. As clean material is exposed, water is now able to flow freely, lowering the water level in the sock tray and deactivating the motor.
Klir's filtration provides three main benefits:
The Klir Fleece Filters are available in two models, the Di-4 and Di-7. Each Klir filter includes 50 miron/50 yards of fleece and a one-inch drain mount. For very large systems, additional expansion trays and arms (sold separately) are available to increase width and flow rate capacity of the Klir filter.
