We appreciate your confidence in our IceCap product. If for any reason you are missing, have an issue with the product, or just have a simple question please contact our support staff at support.coralvue.com. The IceCap Booster Pump will increase the amount of pressure to your reverse osmosis membrane to achieve greater efficiency and performance.
These instructions are dedicated to all IceCap RO/DI Water Filter models including IC-RI75, IC-RI100, IC-RI150, IC-RI200, and most other reverse osmosis brands.*
Please read THOROUGHLY before installing this product!
* WARNING: High water pressure can cause leaks and damage to the surrounding building or fixtures if not properly installed on a RO/DI system capable of handling added pressure. Users must check all fittings for tightness. IceCap/CoralVue assumes no responsibility for water damage due to leaks or improper installation of the unit.
1. Booster Pump – RO/DI Performance enhancing, mouning hardware sold seperately
2. Low-Pressure Switch – Prevents the pump from running dry and burning up
3. High-Pressure Switch – Automates the booster pump and powers down when pressure is added
4. 24v/2A Power Supply & Wire Harness – Screws sold separately
5. 3ft of 1/4in Tubing – Use to and from the booster pump to the RO/DI system
We suggest the IceCap RO/DI Booster Pump be mounted to any secure location using hardware screws (not supplied). Choose a dry space alongside your RO/DI unit, and always away from any heat source. The pump can be mounted in any orientation, but it will operate best when mounted vertically to prevent trapped air. Take note of the intake and output indicated by the arrows located on the top of the booster pump so that you can plumb the kit to your RO/DI accordingly. When mounted upright the intake will be on the right and the output to the RO membrane will be on the left.
Before installing the kit, shut off the water supply and bleed off any water resting in the RO/DI lines if you are installing on a pre-existing RO/DI. Remove the RO/DI to a stable work surface to splice in the two included pressure switches.
The low-pressure switch can be installed anywhere before the intake on the booster pump which can be installed anywhere prior to the intake on the auto shut-off switch(if equipped). We suggest splicing at the Y fitting before the auto shut-off switch, detaching the small section of tubing coming directly from the prefilters to the Y, and attaching the low-pressure switch to the end of this line. Insert a section of the included RODI line to the other side of the low-pressure switch and then the other end into the intake of the Booster Pump.
With the remaining RO/DI line, attach one end to the output of the booster pump and the other end to the Y connection that was disconnected previously.
The booster pump and low-pressure solenoid are installed after the prefilters to protect them from fine particles and buildup from the water supply that can shorten the service life, especially the pump.
IMPORTANT: The carbon filter must be flushed first to stop particles or debris from entering the new filter block from flowing into the pump.
The Hight Pressure Switch is best installed after your RO/DI auto-shut-off device. Splice the high-pressure switch in a convenient location, for instance, right before or after your DI Filter (stage 4). There is no flow direction required for the installation of the high-pressure switch - no particular in or out.
Mount the power supply within reach of the booster pump and connect it to the wire harness connecting the low and high-pressure switches. With the RO/DI and the Booster Pump Kit now installed, return the water supply to the RO/DI and check for leaks, specifically at all new connections.
NOTE: If a leak occurs, be sure to shut off the feed water and depressurize the RO/DI before addressing the source of the leak.
With no leaks observed, we can now plug the power supply into an operational GFCI power source and observe the pressure gauge. As the system builds up pressure, be sure to once again check for leaks.
It is important to replace the prefilters when due. If the prefilters block sufficiently, it will restrict water to the booster pump and may cause damage. It's also a good idea to periodically observe and check your RO unit for leaks and repair if necessary.
