Pump Installation

Please remember the following pump installation instructions:

1. Locate and clean the surface area where you intend to install the pump.

2. Position the Inner Magnet Mount and the Dry Side Mount in your preferred location. Be cautious not to let the two magnets snap together when mounting.

3. Attach the pump to the inner magnet, ensuring that the power cable is facing upwards.

WARNING: The creation of waves within the aquarium can place excessive stress on the aquarium and its seams. Not all aquariums can withstand stress produced by waves. We are not responsible for any damage to the surrounding environment or indirect damage caused by the production of waves within the aquarium.

NOTE: Install the Dry Side Mount on the exterior of the aquarium; do not submerge Dry Side Mount in water.

Controller Installation

Please ensure that you mount the controller in a dry location within reach of the flow pump using screws (not included). Make sure to leave a drip loop between the controller and the pump. Next, plug the power supply into the power port of the controller and then plug the other end into your home receptacle.

Understanding the IceCap Flow Pump Controller and its Functions

IceCap Flow Pump Controller Functions

PulsingMode

Pulsing Mode

Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Pulsing Mode appears on the controller screen. The pump motor will start at maximum power to create a strong flow. After reaching peak flow, the motor will immediately reduce to minimum power and then start the process again. You can adjust the length of the wave using the knob. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wave and the more pronounced the wave will be. You can adjust the size of the wave by pressing the "Feed/Speed" button.

ConstantMode

Constant Flow Mode

Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Constant Flow Mode appears on the controller screen. The pump will provide a constant forward flow of water at the intensity you set. Press the "Feed/Speed" button to adjust the power.

StreamMode

Stream Mode

Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Stream Mode appears on the controller screen. The pump will start at a slow speed, gradually increase to its maximum speed, and then slow down to its minimum speed. You can adjust the time using the knob and the maximum speed using the "Feed/Speed" button. You can adjust the time using the adjustment knob and the maximum pump speed by pressing the "Feed/Speed" button.

RandomFlow

Random Mode

Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Random Mode appears on the controller screen. The pump will operate by pulsing at randomly varying rates and intensities to create irregular random flow.

LinkageMode

Linkage Mode

Remember to power on two IceCap Flow Pumps and their controllers. Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Linkage Mode appears on the controller screen. Press the "Linkage" button on the controller and designate one of the two pumps as the "Master Control." The screen will display "Master Control". Repeat the same steps for the second pump controller by pressing the "Linkage" button until the screen displays "Servant." In this mode, the two pumps will create waves alternately. The wavelength can be adjusted using the master controller, and the speed can be adjusted individually.

CycleMode

Cycle Mode

Press the "Night/Mode" button until the Cycle Mode appears on the controller screen. The pump will alternate between the previous 4 flow modes automatically every 10 cycles.

NOTE: This function can only work when both pumps switch to Linkage Mode (*FP-60 Linkage mode not available).

Setting Description

Feed Setting

Press and hold the "Feed/Speed" button; the pump will stop for 20 minutes and then automatically resume the currently selected flow mode.

Night Setting

Press and hold the "Night/Mode" button; if the light is dim, the pump will operate at the lowest flow rate. When the light brightens, the pump will exit night mode. Long-pressing the "Night/Mode" button will also exit the Night Mode setting.

Lock Setting

Press and hold the "Linkage/Lock" button to lock the knob and prevent accidental adjustments. Hold "Linkage/Lock" button until the LED turns off to activate the Lock setting.

Maintenance

We recommend cleaning the pump every 2-3 months or as necessary, using a high-quality pump cleaner or citric acid.

Here are the instructions in a clearer format:

1. Carefully remove the pump from the inner magnet base.
2. To remove the flow cage, rotate it slightly counter-clockwise and away from the pump body.
3. To remove the impeller, rotate the impeller base counterclockwise and pull away from the pump body to expose the impeller magnet and rear shaft assembly.

Troubleshooting

When the pump controller is powered on and doesn't detect a connected pump, the controller will go into protection mode and "Lock" LED flash. To resume running, you need to disconnect the power to the controller, properly connect the pump to the controller, and connect to the power again.

Water Shortage Protection

When a lack of water is detected, the pump will operate at the lowest speed.

Rotor Jam Protection

When dirt and debris block the propeller from spinning the pump will test itself for 30 seconds or until the pump is cleaned and inspected.

High/Low Voltage Protection

When the provided voltage is lower than 9V or higher than 36V.  The pump will stop running and enter the protection program. It will test in every 30 Seconds until the voltage returns to normal.

Losing-phase Protection

One or more sets of motor three-phase winding coils are disconnected. The pump will stop running and enter protection mode. It will test every 30 seconds until the three-phase winding is reconnected to the circuit board.
