The Reef Octopus Octo Pulse 2+ (SKU: OCT-OP2+) is an elite, intelligent in-tank flow pump engineered to supply natural, high-volume water movement to marine reef aquariums from 20 to 80+ gallons. Recreating authentic oceanic wave energy inside a glass or acrylic display is crucial for coral respiration, waste export, and health. CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Separate the internal pump wet side from the external dry side magnetic mount.
- Position the Octo Pulse 2+ inside your display tank, sliding the external dry magnet into position on the outer glass to secure it.
- Pivot the pump body within its concave magnetic ring to guide the impeller nozzle toward your primary rock layout or back wall.
- Plug the waterproof pump lead into Port 1 or Port 2 at the base of the WiFi Controller module.
- Download the OCTO App to your smartphone, connect to your home's 2.4GHz WiFi network, and follow the basic screen prompts to sync the controller.
- Power up the system and select your preferred wave mode, tailoring the peak intensity percentage to accommodate your coral layout.
Pro Tips:
- Clean the Impeller Bushing. To preserve near-silent performance and extend the lifespan of your pump, disassemble the front wet-side shroud every 2 to 3 months and soak the impeller assembly in a bath of warm white vinegar or a dedicated citric acid solution. Calcium carbonate scale can precipitate inside the rear bushing wall, causing increased friction, slow startup issues, and audible ticking noises.
- The Anti-Sync Effect. If you hook up two Octo Pulse pumps to the shared WiFi controller, configure them in Anti-Sync Mode. Set Pump 1 to ramp up to peak power while Pump 2 drops to minimum speed, then alternate the cycle. This creates a natural back-and-forth sloshing motion across your aquascape, completely eliminating stagnant detritus zones behind your rocks.
- Secure Your Cable Paths. When setting up your powerhead, always create a "drip loop" along the electrical cord right before it plugs into the controller or wall outlet. This simple dip in the wire guarantees that if water accidentally creeps down the power line during tank maintenance, it will harmlessly drip onto the floor rather than traveling directly into sensitive electronic circuitry.
