WARRANTY
CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Verify that the internal Aquatrance 3000s pump is firmly seated on the bottom locking track and properly linked to the venturi airline.
- Place the skimmer inside your sump’s filtration area, confirming your water depth is stable between 7 and 9 inches (8 inches is ideal).
- Secure the flexible air injection tube up to the integrated air silencer mounted alongside the skimmer body neck.
- Open the precision adjustment gate valve completely before connecting the pump power cord into a GFCI outlet.
- Allow the internal chamber to fill with micro-bubbles, then gradually adjust the gate valve until the foam line reaches the lower base of the cup neck.
- Leave the skimmer to run for a full 10–14 days to dissolve manufacturing surface films and complete the mandatory break-in phase.
Pro Tips:
- The ATO Dependency. Because the high-performance pump sits directly within the main body chamber, the internal pressure of the Classic 202-S is highly sensitive to external water levels. To eliminate erratic foaming or sudden collection cup overflows, always pair this unit with an Auto Top Off (ATO) system to keep your sump water depth locked at a stable height.
- Intake Check for Snails. Due to its compact, space-saving layout, the pump intake grid draws water close to the bottom acrylic floor plate. Inspect this section monthly to ensure it hasn't pulled in detritus clumps, stray macroalgae, or small hitchhikers like stomatella or vermetid snails, which can choke your air volume draw.
- Break-In Adjustments. If your brand-new skimmer over-foams aggressively upon initial startup, it is a normal reaction to residual manufacturing oils. Do not restrict the air intake; instead, open the gate valve fully and temporarily raise the skimmer body 1–2 inches on an extra acrylic stand or eggcrate stage for the first week to reduce internal water column pressure.
