CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
- Unplug your existing skimmer pump from the wall outlet to eliminate all live electricity before removing the filtration body from your sump.
- Disconnect the air-intake silicone tube from your venturi silencer nozzle, unscrew the grey output union collar counter-clockwise, and slide the pump free from the skimmer base plate.
- Pull your original intake venturi assembly off the front nozzle of the old pump and inspect the internal air nozzle path to ensure it is clear of salt deposits or organic slime.
- Take your fresh AQ-3000S replacement pump, line up the old venturi nozzle with the front suction mouth, and press it firmly into position until it seats completely flush.
- Align the 1-inch threaded output nozzle with your skimmer body's grey sliding union receiver, hand-tighten the threaded collar clockwise until snug, and secure the pump base to the bottom plate tracking.
- Submerge the skimmer assembly back into your sump chamber, hook the silicone air line back into your collection neck silencer, plug the AC cord into your wall outlet, and adjust your gate valve to establish the desired water line.
Pro Tips:
- Clear the Air Venturi Intakes with Warm Fresh Water Every Two Weeks. Because this skimmer pump pulls high air volumes directly through a dedicated venturi nozzle, concentrated salt spray and mineral evaporation naturally build up around the small air injection nipple over time. This hard salt crust will restrict incoming airflow, causing the skimmer's water line to rise unexpectedly and choke your foam output. To prevent overflow loops, simply disconnect the silicone air line from the silencer once every two weeks and feed 1 cup of warm fresh water through the tube while the pump is running to instantly dissolve the mineral scaling safely.
- Never Operate This Specialized Motor Dry Outside of Water Profiles. The AQ-3000S is a dedicated skimmer pump that relies entirely on surrounding water flow to lubricate its internal ceramic shaft and dissipate operational core heat. Running the pump dry on an equipment table or allowing your return chamber water line to fall below the upper volute rim will cause immediate thermal distortion. Dry running generates intense friction heat that can warp the plastic impeller blades and shatter the polished ceramic axle shaft within minutes, instantly voiding your factory warranty.
- Perform a Quarterly Citric Acid Soak to Eliminate Internal Magnesium Bound Scale. The mixing of compressed air and concentrated saltwater inside the wet well generates significant internal friction, causing calcium and magnesium ions to naturally bake onto the warm needlewheel array and rear shaft bushing. This rough scaling acts like sandpaper, grinding down your bearings and creating severe rotor imbalances that lead to loud vibrations. Every 3 to 4 months, unthread the pump and soak the complete motor block in a warm bath of fresh water mixed with citric acid powder for 30 minutes to dissolve the mineral scale and preserve whisper-quiet operation.
