- Turn off the protein skimmer pump for safety.
- Remove the collection cup to gain clear access to the skimmer neck.
- Slide the old or broken bracket off the neck collar (if applicable).
- Align the new bracket with the mounting track or collar on the skimmer body.
- Insert the nylon thumb screw and tighten by hand until the bracket is firm. Do not use tools to tighten.
- Slide your air silencer into the circular holder until it is snug.

Hand-tighten only.
The nylon screw is designed to be tightened with your fingers. Using pliers or a screwdriver can easily snap the head of the screw or crack the acrylic mounting track on your skimmer body.
Check for salt creep. Because this bracket sits near the neck junction, it can often collect salt creep. During your monthly maintenance, wipe down the bracket and screw to prevent the salt from "locking" the nylon threads, which can make the screw difficult to remove later.
