Reef Octopus Aquatrance 3000s Venturi Air Intake

The Reef Octopus Aquatrance 3000s Venturi is the specialized air intake device responsible for the high-volume air injection required for large reef systems. Designed specifically to mate with the powerful Aquatrance 3000s skimmer pump, this venturi uses vacuum pressure to draw in massive amounts of air before it enters the pinwheel impeller. This process is what generates the dense, "milky" foam column that allows the Classic 202-S to process aquariums up to 265 gallons.

As the primary point of entry for air, the venturi is a common site for salt creep and calcium carbonate buildup. If your skimmer's air pull has dropped or the foam has become "watery," a restricted venturi is often the culprit. This genuine replacement part ensures your Classic 202-S continues to pull its rated 900 LPH of air, maintaining peak organic export and oxygenation for your reef. Constructed from saltwater-resistant, high-grade plastics, it is built for long-term durability in a reef sump environment.

    Key Features

    • OEM Replacement: Guaranteed to fit the Aquatrance 3000s pump used in the Classic 202-S.
    • Optimized Air Mixing: Engineered internal geometry creates maximum suction with minimal turbulence.
    • Durable Construction: Made from saltwater-safe materials to resist the harsh environment of a filter chamber.
    • Easy to Clean: The removable design allows for deep cleaning of the air injection nozzle.
    • Plug-and-Play: Slides directly into the pump intake volute for an immediate performance restore.

    Ideal For

    • Performance Restoration: Fixing skimmers that have lost their bubble density or air intake volume.
    • Clogged Components: Replacing venturis where heavy calcium deposits cannot be safely removed.
    • Accidental Damage: Replacing parts where the air hose barb has snapped during maintenance.
    • System Spares: An essential backup part for high-bioload reef systems where filtration downtime is not an option.

    What’s Included:
    • (1) Replacement Venturi for Aquatrance 3000s

    Specifications:
    • Compatible Pump: Aquatrance 3000s (AQ-3000S)
    • Compatible Skimmer: Reef Octopus Classic 202-S
    • Material: High-quality PVC/Plastic
    • Part Type: Venturi Air Intake
    • Manufacturer: Reef Octopus

    1. Turn off the protein skimmer pump.
    2. Disconnect the air intake hose from the venturi barb.
    3. Gently pull the old venturi out of the pump’s intake volute.
    4. Inspect the pump intake for any debris or salt creep and wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
    5. Press the new venturi firmly into the pump intake until it is fully seated.
    6. Reattach the air hose to the new barb and restart the pump.

    Pro Tips:
Dissolve salt creep weekly. Because the 202-S pulls so much air, salt creep can form quickly inside the small intake nozzle. Once a week, let the pump "drink" a small cup of warm RO/DI water through the air hose to dissolve deposits before they harden.

Inspect the O-ring. Ensure the venturi creates a tight seal with the pump intake. If air or water is leaking from the connection point, the pump will lose vacuum pressure, and your air pull will drop significantly.

Avoid metal tools for cleaning. If you are cleaning the internal air nozzle, use a soft toothpick or a nylon brush. Using metal needles or drill bits can scratch the plastic and permanently disrupt the air-to-water flow dynamics.
