Enhanced Control
With the bespoke controller, users have full control over the flow rates by selecting 90 preset speed settings, indicated by its built-in display panel, which also allows the user to view both the wattage and RPM of the pump in real-time. A 15 or 60-minute feed mode can also be engaged or disengaged with the push of a button.
In addition, a rotatable volute allows the user to adjust the output orientation horizontally or vertically, making this pump very versatile in its applications.

CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Determine whether your configuration requires a Submerged installation inside your sump or a Dry, external layout inline with your plumbing.
- For submerged use, screw the included 50mm intake strainer onto the front volute mouth. For external dry configurations, remove the strainer and glue a rigid 50mm metric intake pipe directly to the input union adapter.
- Glue your primary 40mm metric return line into the smooth slip socket of the output adapter, place the silicone O-ring in its seat, and hand-tighten the union collar clockwise over the pump discharge port.
- Mount your VarioS-10 smart controller and heavy 36V power transformer brick onto a dry equipment panel located away from any water spray.
- Securely plug the multi-pin motor cord into the base of the controller driver, lock the waterproof ring, connect your safety float switch line, and plug the power supply into the wall.
- Press the speed buttons to ramp up the motor slowly, verify that air vents smoothly through your return manifold, and check all plumbing points for an absolute leak-free seal.
Pro Tips:
- Always Use the Included 36V Power Transformer Exclusively. Because the VarioS-10 pump block is an industrial-class system engineered to drive immense water weight over steep head heights, it functions on a highly specialized 36-volt electrical platform. Never attempt to splice this pump cord or plug it into common 24V power adapters from smaller return pumps or wavemakers. Running this high-torque motor under a lower voltage profile will starve the internal processor, trigger immediate driver error loops, and permanently warp the internal windings.
- Never Allow a Dry-Plumbed External Pump to Starve for Water. If you choose to plumb this unit externally as a dry inline pump, ensure that your suction plumbing line is located completely below your sump's resting water level so gravity can keep the pump chamber continuously flooded. Centrifugal return pumps are not self-priming. If you start the VarioS-10 dry or allow an air lock to isolate the impeller bay, the friction generated by spinning the ceramic shaft at full speed without water will heat up the bearing sleeve instantly, melting the internal plastic volute and ruining the motor.
- Clean the Magnetic Rotor Assembly Quarterly. Given that a pressure-rated pump works significantly harder than standard utility pumps to overcome plumbing friction, calcium carbonate and hard magnesium scale will naturally bake onto the warm internal ceramic shaft over time. Left uncleaned for six months, this rough crust will drag on the motor, raising its temperature and dropping its total flow output. Pull the front volute cover off every three months and soak the magnetic rotor assembly in a warm bath of citric acid powder to dissolve the scale completely.
