The mechanical muscle behind this entire process is this compact, heavy-duty gear motor. Because the motor assembly sits directly above the damp, humid splash zone of your mechanical sock tray chamber, it handles continuous exposure to salt air and moisture. Over years of non-stop operation, internal gear wear, water intrusion from severe sump overflows, or high-friction roll binding can cause the original motor to stall, seize, or strip its internal teeth. - To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

- Unplug your automatic fleece roller filter's electronic smart controller from the wall outlet to kill all power to the system.
- Carefully lift the entire Klir Di-7 filter chassis straight up out of your sump's 7-inch filter sock tray panel and lay it flat on a dry towel.
- Trace the short wire coming off the old motor to its connection point, pull the barrel plugs apart, and slide the old motor housing straight up and out of the acrylic frame tracks.
- Take your fresh CV-KLIR-MTAS7 motor assembly and line up its molded side channels with the open vertical tracking slots on the filter's side plate.
- Slide the new motor housing straight down into the slots until the main drive gear locks securely into the teeth of your front 7-inch waste collection spool.
- Connect the low-voltage barrel plugs back together firmly, verify your water level sensor is clean and in position, lower the filter back into the sock opening, and plug the controller power supply back into a GFCI outlet.
Pro Tips:
- Never Attempt to Rotate the Spools Manually While the Motor is Geared. When swapping out an exhausted fleece roll, always slide the motor assembly up and out of its frame tracks before trying to spin the spools by hand. This motor features a high-torque internal reduction gear set that is designed to turn in only one direction via electronic control. Attempting to force-turn the dirty collection spool or torque the motor gears manually while fully engaged will instantly strip the internal plastic teeth, permanently destroying your new motor and voiding your factory warranty.
- Incorporate a Deep Drip Loop in the Wire Lead to Block Creeping Moisture. When routing the motor's pre-wired power cord out of the damp sump area, always leave a loose, U-shaped drop loop in the wire harness. If salt spray or heavy condensation builds up along the line under your aquarium stand, gravity will pull the moisture down to the bottom of the loop where it safely drips away, rather than tracking straight along the insulation jacket and flooding your electronic plug ports.
- Use a HYDROS Controller to Monitor Real-Time Motor Current Draw. To extend the operating life of your new drive motor, consider pairing it with a HYDROS Drive Port Adapter Cable (HDRS-CBC-KLR) to run it off a primary automation controller. The HYDROS platform actively monitors the electrical current draw across the drive port. If your wide 7-inch fleece fabric bunches up or jams, the controller will sense the sudden power spike from the straining motor and shut down the circuit automatically, preventing the motor from overheating and burning out.
