Filtra P FAST- Anti Phosphate - Iron Based Filter Media
Phosphate build up in the aquarium appears to be a fairly common problem. They are present in most tap water supplies, they are also introduced to aquarium water through fish waste, uneaten fish food, and decaying material. Over time these compounds may build up to unnatural and undesirable levels, becoming pollutants. In a balanced Marine aquarium, phosphates are removed by corals, by precipitation, by filtration but, this is important, the amount removed can be low and can only keep such levels low if the amount of Phosphate that is produced in the tank on a continuous basis is also low.
In many tanks this is not so, and hobbyists end up with rising levels of PO4. ELOS Filtra P Fast along with water changes can help to prevent this from happening.
Dedicated to the fast removal of the Phosphate it is a product to “cure” the problem. Positioned inside the filter it will help to dramatically reduce the level of PO4 within few days.
Dosage: 100 ml of product treat 100-200 lt (26-55 gallons) of marine water and 200-400 lt (55-110 gallons) of fresh water, depending from the level of PO4.
Important tips: many types of fish food contains various inorganic phosphate salts intentionally added to them as preservatives. The use of ELOS Fish Nutrition Food line can be higly beneficial in order to avoid the accumulation of unwanted PO4.
- This is the product is reef-safe, used as directed to quickly reduce PO4. Once the ideal PO4 level is reached, ELOS Filtra P can be used to maintain the low levels.
Note: We suggest not to reduce phosphate levels too low in planted aquarium. Phosphorus is one of the main three macro nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium: NPK) required by plants and can often become the limiting factor to growth in a planted aquarium. It is then important to keep Phosphate level well controlled using an high quality test kit like the ELOS Aqua Test PO4.
