Pro Tips:
Set the gate valve slowly and give the skimmer time to respond. The gate valve controls the water level inside the skimmer body, and small adjustments have a delayed effect as the body stabilizes. Make a small adjustment, then wait 15–20 minutes before evaluating the result. Rapid back-and-forth changes during break-in are the most common cause of frustration with in-sump skimmers.
Measure your sump water depth before purchasing. The Classic 110-INT requires 7–8 inches of water in the skimmer chamber to operate correctly. Too shallow and the pump inlet comes out of the water; too deep and the body sits too high, pushing water over the neck. Most standard sumps accommodate this range, but verify before installation.
Use the cup drain to establish a routine emptying schedule. The drain port on the collection cup makes it practical to run a small-diameter tube from the cup to a waste container and empty it on a schedule rather than waiting for the cup to fill. This keeps skimmate from overflowing and keeps the neck cleaner, which improves foam consistency over time.

- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Assemble the internal bubble plate diffuser and attach the Aquatrance 1000s pump to the skimmer body intake.
- Place the skimmer inside your sump chamber, verifying that your water depth sits between 7 and 8 inches.
- Route the airline from the pump venturi to the integrated air silencer, ensuring there are no sharp kinks.
- Open the precision gate valve completely before plugging the pump into a GFCI outlet.
- Once the water begins processing smoothly, gradually close the gate valve until the internal foam line sits at the base of the cup's neck.
- Allow 10–14 days for the new acrylic surfaces to fully break in before performing final precision tuning.
Pro Tips:
- Sump Depth Consistency. The Classic 110-INT relies on a constant external water level to maintain stable performance. If your sump water level fluctuates due to evaporation, the skimmer will fluctuate as well. We strongly advise pairing this in-sump unit with an Auto Top Off (ATO) system to keep your water depth perfectly locked at 7.5 inches.
- Simple Break-In Remedy. Brand-new skimmers frequently over-foam due to manufacturing oils left on the plastic. If your skimmer cup is immediately flooding with water upon startup, open the gate valve entirely and drop the pump speed (if controllable) or raise the skimmer up on an acrylic stand for the first week to minimize internal water pressure until it breaks in.
- Venturi Salt Check. If you notice that your skimmer is producing fewer bubbles or the water level inside the body keeps rising without adjustments, check the venturi nozzle where the airline meets the pump intake. Salt creep can slowly crystallize inside this port, blocking the air path. Simply clear it with a toothpick or dissolve it with a small splash of warm RO/DI water.
