The IceCap 2K Directional Cage Set (A+B) (SKU: IC-GP2K-CAGE-AB) is the official OEM replacement shroud pair engineered for the IceCap 2K Gyre Flow Pump. Over years of routine aquarium maintenance, exposure to UV light, or accidental drops during vinegar cleaning, the plastic locking tabs on cage shrouds can wear out or snap.
This matched set includes both side "A" and side "B" directional cages. Designed to snap directly onto the central motor housing, these cages allow you to rotate and independently adjust the water discharge angle on each side of the pump. This custom alignment helps create laminar flow patterns across the water surface or targeted flow along rock structures without creating dead spots.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Disconnect power to the IceCap 2K Gyre Pump controller and remove the pump assembly from your aquarium.
Twist and pull the old directional cages off the central motor housing.
Slide the matching "A" and "B" propellers onto the ceramic motor shaft.
Align cage "A" with side A of the motor block and cage "B" with side B, pushing firmly until they lock onto the motor collars.
Reattach the outer cage end caps, adjust the directional vanes to your preferred flow angle, and reinstall the pump into your display tank.
Pro Tips:
- Match Cages with Corresponding Propellers. Ensure that Cage A is installed over Propeller A and Cage B is installed over Propeller B. Mixing up side orientations can alter water flow intake dynamics and cause minor friction noise against internal blade tips.
- Soak Cages to Remove Organic Buildup. Soak the directional cages in a 50/50 mix of warm water and white vinegar or citric acid every 30 to 60 days to dissolve coralline algae and tubeworms. Clean, unobstructed cage slots maximize water intake and preserve full output flow.
