IceCap 2K Directional Cage End Cap

The IceCap 2K Directional Cage End Cap (SKU: IC-GP2K-ENDCAP) is the official OEM replacement cap designed for the outer ends of the IceCap 2K Gyre Flow Pump cage assembly. Plastic tabs can wear or snap over years of routine cleaning, leading to loose cages, misaligned rotor shafts, and excessive motor vibration.
This replacement end cap snaps onto the outer edge of the directional cage, locking the cage assembly together and serving as the outer seat for the rubber motor shaft bushing. By holding the ceramic shaft firmly in place, it prevents propeller wobble and maintains smooth, continuous gyre flow across your aquarium.
Essential Spare Component
End caps are frequently removed during monthly pump maintenance to slide propellers off for vinegar baths. Having a spare end cap on hand ensures that cracked clips or lost parts won't leave your aquarium without circulation.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Disconnect power to the IceCap 2K Gyre Pump controller and remove the pump unit from your aquarium.
Twist and gently pull the damaged or worn outer end cap away from the directional cage shroud.
Ensure the rubber motor bushing is seated properly inside the central recess of the new end cap.
Align the locking notches of the new IC-GP2K-ENDCAP with the directional cage rim and press firmly until it snaps into place.
Verify that the ceramic rotor shaft spins smoothly without friction before reinstalling the pump into your tank.
Pro Tips:
- Check Rubber Bushing Placement. When replacing an end cap, always verify that the small rubber shaft bushing is transferred from the old cap into the internal recess of the new cap. Operating the pump without this rubber bushing seated in the end cap causes severe rotor noise and rapid ceramic shaft wear.
- Gently Press Locking Tabs. When removing end caps for routine cleaning, apply gentle, even pressure around the rim rather than twisting aggressively. This prevents stress fractures on the plastic locking clips, extending the lifespan of your pump cages.
