IceCap 4K Gyre Flow Pump with HYDROS WaveEngine LE Bundle
The IceCap 4K Gyre Pump and HYDROS WaveEngine LE Kit is an authentic, smart-home-optimized water movement array distributed by CoralVue to bring advanced cross-flow fluid dynamics and mobile app control to expansive home freshwater displays and marine reef aquariums from 25 to over 150 gallons. Traditional wavemakers project a narrow, cone-shaped beam of water that creates localized high-velocity hot spots while leaving the lower layout corners stagnant. The Gyre 4K works on a completely different structural framework, using large-format transverse flow cages to push a massive, uniform wedge of water right across the surface of the pool. This sheet hits the opposite glass panel and splits, forcing detritus along the substrate and pulling organic debris along the bottom back toward the pump intake for total water column turnover.
What elevates this premium bundle is the inclusion of the HYDROS WaveEngine LE WiFi Controller, which completely bypasses standard inline manual drivers. The WaveEngine LE acts as a localized command center, allowing you to plug your Gyre 4K directly into its housing. This direct-drive setup lets you control up to two pumps from a single power brick, cleaning up cabinet cable layouts. Managed completely via the cloud-capable HYDROS app for iOS and Android, you can fine-tune your tank current down to precise percentages. Program aggressive tidal flow cycles, create staggered random pulses, establish low-flow nocturnal regimes, or link the pump with smart parameters to shut off when water level sensors or automatic feeders trip.
Key Features:
True Smart Cloud Integration: Access, adjust, and monitor your aquarium's current patterns from anywhere in the world using stable local Wi-Fi and global cloud servers.
Universal Direct-Drive Hookups: Built-in multi-brand pump control algorithms let the WaveEngine LE operate IceCap, Maxspect, Reef Octopus, or VarioS equipment loops concurrently.
Reversible Tidal Flow Engineering: Utilizes asymmetric directional cages and matched rotor sets to let you run the pump in true reverse, mimicking natural incoming and outgoing tides.
Note: This advanced smart kit contains (1) IceCap 4K Gyre Pump block, (1) HYDROS WaveEngine LE Module, a 120W power supply, magnet mounts, a matching connection link cable, and alternate rotor sets.

Instructions:
- Unbox your IC-GYRE4K-H smart combo pack. Check your directional rotors—ensure the left and right color-coded turbine blades line up with their matching cage assemblies.
- Clean the target glass panel area thoroughly on both sides of the tank to remove hard calcium scales or loose sand grains before attaching the magnetic hardware.
- Submerge the Gyre 4K pump assembly horizontally into your water column, tilting it back and forth to clear any trapped air out of the turbine cavities.
- Position the pump frame 2 inches below your operational water line, then bring the dry magnet pad up smoothly from the outside to lock it in place.
- Plug the pump's lead wire into the direct drive adapter cable, and thread the multi-pin aviation connector into a receiving port on the base of the HYDROS WaveEngine LE controller.
- Connect the 120W power supply, launch the HYDROS mobile application on your smartphone, and follow the app screens to link the controller to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Crucial: Set the pump configuration to "IceCap Gyre 4K" inside the app and dial down the initial max speed safety setting before launching.
Pro Tips:
- Dial Down Your Initial Max Percentage Inside the App Before Firing Up the Pump. When first linking your Gyre 4K to the HYDROS WaveEngine app, the control profile defaults to running at a flat 100% maximum intensity. Because cross-flow engines project an incredibly powerful linear sheet of water, firing it up at full throttle inside smaller or newly sand-bedded displays can throw up a massive sandstorm or displace sensitive coral frags. Always configure your maximum operational speed limit down to roughly 30% to 40% inside the app settings first, then scale it up gradually as needed.
- Keep the Power Cables Free and Relaxed with an In-Line Drip Loop. When running your smart hardware connections down behind your aquarium cabinet stand, never pull the pump wires tight between the rim and the WaveEngine module. Always establish a loose, U-shaped "drip loop" in the wire path below the level of the controller socket terminals. If water droplets migrate down the cable casing during routine maintenance, the loop forces the moisture to collect and drop safely onto the floor instead of wicking directly into the smart electronics pins.
- Perform a 60-Day Vinegar Soak to Clear Calcium Scale and Prevent Rotor Errors. The high-speed rotational movement inside cross-flow wavemakers generates minor friction heat that accelerates the precipitation of calcium carbonate (calcification). Over a couple of months, hard white mineral scale can crust around the internal ceramic rotor stems, driving up power draw, creating operational noise, or triggering over-current errors inside the HYDROS app. Every 60 days, separate the cages and drop the wet-side internal components into a warm bath of white vinegar or a dedicated aquarium equipment cleaner. A quick 30-minute soak strips away scale, ensuring smooth, silent performance and extending the service life of your pump.
