WARRANTY
CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Assemble the skimmer body, ensuring the internal VarioS-2S pump is seated securely on its mounts.
- Place the skimmer in your sump; the ideal water depth is 7.5 inches.
- Install the float switch into the collection cup lid and connect it to the controller.
- Plug the pump into the controller and connect the power supply.
- Open the gate valve fully and power on the unit.
- Adjust the gate valve until the foam line reaches the base of the neck.
- Allow a 2-week break-in period for the acrylic to cure and the foam to stabilize.
Pro Tips:
- Small Sump, Big Results. The 150-SSS is specifically designed for tight spaces. If you find the output creates too many microbubbles in a small sump, ensure your output is directed toward a baffle or use a small piece of coarse foam to break the surface tension at the exit.
- Maintenance Advantage. Because the pump is internal, periodically check the intake for small snails or debris that may bypass the pump screen. Every 6 months, perform a full teardown and soak the VarioS pump in a 50/50 vinegar/water solution to maintain its silent operation.
- Metric Output Note. This skimmer uses a 40mm Metric output. If you choose to hard-plumb the discharge, use a 40mm Metric Union to ensure you can still easily remove the skimmer for annual maintenance.
