Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Unplug the main 24V power transformer brick from your wall socket to eliminate all live electricity in the equipment bay before changing components.
- Locate the waterproof connection point where your thick multi-pin motor cable from the VarioS-2S pump hooks into the base of the old controller.
- Unscrew the knurled plastic locking collar counter-clockwise to release the compression seal, and pull the cable straight out of the socket.
- Unmount the old driver from its wall panel, snap your new ROP-VARIOS2SPLS-CTL WiFi module into the mounting cradle, and reconnect your auxiliary cords.
- Align the internal orientation pins of your motor cable with the bottom port of the new controller, press together firmly, and spin the locking collar clockwise until hand-tight.
- Connect your 24V power supply brick, download the Reef Octopus App onto your mobile device, follow the on-screen prompts to pair with your local WiFi network, and configure your 8 speed choices.
Pro Tips:
- Never Hot-Plug the Multi-Pin Motor Cable. Whenever you need to disconnect the skimmer pump for seasonal maintenance or plumbing changes, always unplug the main power transformer from the wall outlet before unscrewing the multi-pin motor cord from the base of this controller. Uncoupling or plugging the heavy motor line while the controller is receiving live 24V current can cause an instantaneous micro-arc across the electrical pins. This electronic spike can easily fry the sensitive WiFi communication chip inside the controller, instantly voiding your warranty.
- Mount the Module Well Outside the Humid Sump Zone. Even though the controller housing is built with a rugged polymer frame and a water-resistant membrane touchpad, it is a piece of precision wireless hardware that should never be subjected to heavy moisture. Avoid anchoring the module inside enclosed, unvented sump cabinets where continuous saltwater condensation and evaporating salt creep coat the walls. Mount the unit on an external equipment board or a dry wall panel next to your tank to prevent internal board corrosion and wireless signal blocking.
- Set Up App Notifications for the Float Switch Safeguard. Take full advantage of the dedicated safety port on the bottom of this module by connecting it to a collection cup float switch. Once the float switch is paired with your home network through the app, configure the software to send an immediate high-priority push notification if your skimmer cup fills up. This turns an ordinary high-water shutoff into an active monitoring tool, alerting you right away so you can empty the cup before dark waste re-enters your sump system.
