The HYDROS Klir Filter Automation Control Adapter Kit (SKU: HDRS-KLIR-KIT) is an authentic smart-hardware integration bundle distributed by CoralVue to bring advanced multi-device automation to your aquarium's mechanical filtration circuit. Traditional drop-in fleece rollers rely on separate control boxes and localized sensors that act independently from your primary automation engine. This disconnected setup can lead to common issues, such as the roller unspooling an entire roll of clean fleece when the return pump turns off and the sump fills with water. By switching your hardware over to the HYDROS ecosystem, you move your roller logic into an interactive environment where it communicates continuously with your entire filtration array.
This complete hardware package contains a HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable paired with a specialized HYDROS Water Level Sensor. The system operates by converting an unused 12V DC Drive Port on your controller into a smart power source for the roller motor. The software configuration features a dedicated, pre-built "Klir" device family profile within the native HYDROS app. As detritus coats the 50-micron fleece and forces the mechanical chamber water line to rise, the HYDROS sensor monitors the level and tells the engine to pulse power to the motor line. This setup delivers crisp advancing cycles, monitors real-time current draw to watch for motor jams, and sends immediate status updates directly to your smartphone if your fleece is exhausted.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Disconnect the stock blue Klir controller and original level sensor from your drop-in roller unit. Unplug its power brick from the wall and set those components aside.
- Take the HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable (HDRS-CBC-KLR) and plug the barrel socket end directly into the short lead coming off the Klir motor.
- Thread the opposite 2-pin female aircraft-style connector end of the adapter cable onto an open Drive Port on your HYDROS controller assembly, turning the locking ring clockwise until hand-tight.
- Mount the fresh HYDROS Water Level Sensor inside your sump's sock tray chamber, positioning the sensor tip roughly 1.5 inches above your level sock plate line. Plug its lead into an open Sense Port on your controller.
- Open your HYDROS app, tap the three dots next to Outputs, and select "Add New Output." Name it "Klir Filter" and set the device type family to Klir.
- Assign your Level Input to the sense port holding your water sensor, assign your Output Device to the drive port holding your motor adapter cable, set your Depends On rule to your Return Pump output (ON if ON mode), and save changes.
- Never Attempt to Connect the Native Blue Klir Sensor Into a HYDROS Input. When setting up this transition, remember that the original level sensor included with your stock Klir filter cannot be decoded by HYDROS hardware. Attempting to modify or force the stock plug into a standard sense port connector can alter electrical ground values and damage your smart controller's internal board. Always use the dedicated HYDROS Water Level Sensor included with this adapter kit to handle level sensing duties.
- Position the Level Sensor Away From Drain Splash Bubbles to Stop False Cycles. When mounting the fresh level sensor inside your sump's mechanical filtration compartment, ensure it is positioned away from the direct turbulence of your overflow line's exit point. Constant splashing or micro-bubbles passing underneath the sensor head can trick the controller into misreading the water line. This can trigger false motor advances that pull clean fleece onto the waste roll prematurely. For the cleanest performance, mount the sensor in a calm corner of the sock chamber tray.
