HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable
SKU: HDRS-CBC-KLR
- Consolidated Cable Streamlining: This adapter allows you to connect the Klir motor and run it from your HYDROS Control Drive Port. Direct-matching wire harness that replaces the redundant native blue Klir controller and power supply for a cleaner cabinet.
- Aviation-Grade Secure Coupling: Engineered with a rugged, threaded 2-pin female aircraft-style connector that locks securely onto standard HYDROS Drive Ports.
- Heavy-Gauge Protective Insulation: Injection-molded with water-resistant, rubberized strain-relief jackets to prevent internal corrosion in high-humidity sump areas.
- Native 12V DC Low-Voltage Flow: Safely delivers regulated operational current directly from the central command bus straight to the roller's geared motor.
- Multi-Wattage Inline Synchronization: Universally compatible with the native internal motor plugs of both the 4-inch (Di-4) and 7-inch (Di-7) Klir filter chassis.

HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable (SKU: HDRS-CBC-KLR)
The HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable (SKU: HDRS-CBC-KLR) is an authentic structural OEM wiring component distributed by CoralVue to bring advanced multi-device automation to your aquarium's mechanical filtration circuit. Traditional drop-in fleece rollers rely on separate control boxes and localized sensors that act independently from your primary automation engine. This disconnected setup can lead to common issues, such as the roller unspooling an entire roll of clean fleece when the return pump turns off and the sump fills with water. By switching your hardware over to the HYDROS ecosystem, you move your roller logic into an interactive environment where it communicates continuously with your entire filtration array.
This heavy-duty cable features a customized layout: a standard low-voltage barrel connector at one end to mate with the internal Klir motor, and a threaded 2-pin female aircraft-style connector at the other to plug directly into your smart engine. By routing power through an open HYDROS Drive Port, the app’s central processing core can monitor the active electrical circuit, track power consumption spikes to watch for mechanical roll jams, and send immediate status updates to your mobile device the moment your fleece is exhausted.
Key Features
Eliminates Tangled Sump Cables: Draws operational wattage directly through the primary command bus line, clearing out clutter and freeing up standard wall sockets.
Enables Interactive Security Logic: Moves motor operation under your central control network, letting you program rules that pause the fleece loop during feed modes or return pump shutoffs.
Tool-Free Modular Disconnect Action: Threaded safety collar rings lock tight by hand, maintaining an IP65-rated splash-proof connection inside damp cabinets.
(Note: This retail SKU contains (1) standalone HDRS-CBC-KLR Drive Port Adapter Cable. To complete the system configuration, a standalone HYDROS Water Level Sensor, Command Bus extension lines, and a control engine like the Control X4 or WaveEngine are sold under separate product categories).

- Disconnect the stock blue Klir controller from your drop-in roller unit. Unplug its original power brick from the wall and set those components aside.
- Locate the short black power lead extending out from the side of your Klir fleece roller's motor housing.
- Take your fresh HYDROS Klir Drive Port Adapter Cable (HDRS-CBC-KLR) and push the female barrel socket end directly into the roller's motor plug until it is fully seated.
- Route the opposite end of the cable over to your primary HYDROS controller engine, insert the 2-pin socket into an available Drive Port, and thread the outer locking collar ring clockwise by hand until snug.
- Install a separate HYDROS Water Level Sensor (sold separately) in your mechanical sump baffle to act as your high-water sensor, and link it to a Sense Port on your controller.
- Open your HYDROS app, add a new Output, set the device type family to Klir, and assign the motor output path to the specific Drive Port holding your fresh adapter cable.
Pro Tips:
- This Standalone Cable Requires a Separate Level Sensor to Operate Automatically. Because this specific SKU containing only the HDRS-CBC-KLR cable handles the motor's electrical power lines, it does not include a water level sensor. To automate your fleece roller under the HYDROS app, you must also purchase a standalone HYDROS Water Level Sensor and plug it into an open Sense Port. If you do not have an existing HYDROS level sensor ready for this configuration, purchase the complete integration package under part number HDRS-KLIR-KIT, which contains both the motor adapter cable and the sensor together.
- Always Add a Deep Drip Loop to the Cable Path to Defend Against Salt Creep. When routing this adapter cable from the damp mechanical compartment of your sump up to your wall-mounted smart controller, always leave a loose, U-shaped drop loop in the wire harness. If salt spray or heavy condensation builds up along the line, gravity will pull the moisture down to the bottom of the loop where it safely drips away, rather than tracking straight into your high-voltage electronic ports.
- Never Attempt to Connect this Cable Into a Sense Port or 0-10V Port. The threaded aircraft-style connectors on HYDROS controllers look similar across various ports, but their internal wiring paths are completely different. This adapter cable must be plugged exclusively into a dedicated, high-current 12V DC Drive Port. Attempting to force-thread this motor lead into a standard Sense Port or a 0-10V Input/Output Port will cause an immediate electrical impedance fault, which can fry the internal circuit boards of both your controller engine and your fleece filter's motor.
