- Disconnect the failed power supply from the wall outlet and the equipment.
- Inspect the motor-side connection port for any moisture or salt buildup; clean with a dry cloth if necessary.
- Plug the new power supply into the equipment first, ensuring the connection is secure.
- Connect the transformer into a standard 110V-120V outlet or aquarium controller.
- Verify the motor is rotating at its standard slow RPM (approx. 1-2 RPM).
Mount the power brick above any potential "splash zones." While the equipment it powers is near water, the transformer itself is not waterproof. Use a drip loop and mount it high inside your stand to prevent water from traveling down the cord and shorting out the brick.
Ensure you are using a 24V AC motor. This power supply is specifically for the 24V AC synchronous motors. If your device has been modified with a different motor type, using this transformer will not work and may cause electrical issues.
Use a timer to prevent transformer overheating. For Kalk Stirrers, running the motor and power supply for only 5 minutes every 2 hours prevents the transformer from being constantly energized, which extends the life of the internal components significantly.
