This "F" version of the 220-series cleaner is uniquely equipped with a float switch port, making it the perfect upgrade for XP3000int, XP3000ext, XP3000sss, SRO3000sss, POV3, Elite 220int/sss, Regal 220int/sss skimmer models. By combining automated neck wiping with your skimmer's existing safety shut-off capabilities, the CL220F ensures peak efficiency and overflow protection in one integrated lid.
Internal organic buildup—often referred to as "skimmer mud"—creates surface tension that traps bubbles and restricts the flow of waste into your collection cup. The CL220F utilizes a motorized dual-blade assembly to clear this buildup multiple times per day, keeping the foam path unobstructed and significantly increasing the volume of waste your skimmer removes from the water column. Constructed from heavy-duty cast acrylic, this automated cleaner reduces manual maintenance while ensuring your filtration remains consistent and reliable.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Remove the stock collection cup lid from your 220 series skimmer.
- Carefully transfer your existing float switch to the dedicated port on the CL220F lid.
- Attach the twin-blade squeegee to the motor shaft of the cleaner lid.
- Place the CL220F lid on your collection cup, ensuring the blades are centered inside the neck.
- Connect the power transformer to the motor and plug it into a timer or aquarium controller.
- Set the cleaner to run for 15 seconds every 6 hours (4 times per day).
Pro Tips
Match your cleaning cycle to your bio-load. While 4 times per day is standard, extremely high-waste systems may benefit from 6 shorter cycles. Always keep the duration short (under 20 seconds) to maximize motor life.
Monitor your waste collector container. Because the CL250F ensures your skimmer never loses efficiency due to neck "crud," your cup will fill much faster. Consider using an external waste collector with a shut-off to prevent overflows.
Clean the silicone blades monthly. Although they clear the neck, the blades themselves can eventually trap grit. Rinsing them under warm freshwater during your regular maintenance prevents scratches to the acrylic neck.
