IceCap ATO Solenoid Valve
Automating top-off water directly from a Reverse Osmosis/Deionization (RO/DI) filtration system requires precise electronic flow control to avoid reservoir refilling and manual transfer buckets. The IceCap ATO Solenoid Valve (SKU: IP-ATO-SOL) is the official OEM electronic shutoff valve designed specifically for IceCap Auto Top Off Systems. By converting electrical signals from your optical ATO controller into physical valve action, it provides reliable inline water control without needing a standalone submersible pump.
Featuring a "Normally Closed" configuration, the valve remains tightly shut until the IceCap ATO optical sensor detects an evaporation drop and sends 12V DC power to the coil. Once energized, the internal plunger lifts, allowing purified water to flow into the aquarium or sump. The moment target water levels are restored, the controller cuts power, and an internal spring instantly seals the valve line to prevent reservoir overfilling or gravity siphoning.

This electronic valve is ideal for aquarists connecting an IceCap ATO controller directly to a pressurized freshwater line, a gravity-fed elevated reservoir, or an automated RO/DI top-off system.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Turn off power to your IceCap ATO controller and shut off the feed water supply line.
Cut your 1/4" flexible RO/DI poly tubing cleanly using a dedicated hose cutter.
Push the supply tube firmly into the inlet push fitting of the IP-ATO-SOL valve, noting the directional flow arrow on the body.
Push the outlet tube leading to your sump or display into the opposite push fitting until fully seated.
Plug the solenoid's power cable directly into the "PUMP" jack on your IceCap ATO controller, turn on the water supply, and plug in the controller.
Pro Tips:
- Install a Pressure Regulator and Secondary Float. When plumbing an ATO solenoid directly to high-pressure municipal water or an RO/DI unit, always install a pressure regulator upstream and a passive mechanical float valve as a redundant secondary backup in your sump to ensure double flood protection.
- Check Flow Direction Arrows. Solenoid valves are directional. Always verify that the flow arrow molded onto the plastic valve housing points in the direction of water flow (from the water source toward the aquarium). Installing the valve backward can cause water to seep past the internal seal even when unpowered.
