- Ensure all three 90mm metric pipe ends are cut perfectly square and thoroughly deburred.
- Clean the pipe ends and the internal sockets of the tee with a dedicated PVC cleaner.
- Apply a generous layer of PVC primer to the pipe ends and all three internal sockets of the tee to properly soften the UPVC.
- Apply a liberal coat of heavy-duty solvent cement (specifically rated for large-diameter pipe) to both components.
- Push the pipes into the tee until they seat fully, giving a slight quarter-turn to ensure even glue distribution.
- Hold firmly for at least 60 seconds per joint. Allow 8–12 hours of cure time before introducing high-pressure water.
Pro Tips:
- Metric vs. Standard. A 90mm metric tee will not fit standard US 3-inch or 4-inch pipe. 90mm is approximately 3.54 inches, while US 3-inch pipe is 3.5 inches OD and US 4-inch pipe is 4.5 inches OD. Always verify your pipe size with a caliper before beginning a permanent solvent weld.
