Reef Octopus Classic 152-S Wine Bottle Body Protein Skimmer
The Reef Octopus Classic 152-S is an in-sump protein skimmer capable of providing powerful filtration for aquariums up to 150 gallons, where sump space may be limited.
This Reef Octopus Classic Skimmer is constructed of high-quality cast acrylic that disassembles completely for cleaning. Its unique Super Cone "wine glass shape" body naturally stabilizes and concentrates the organic-rich foam as it rises, producing enhanced foamation.
Fully equipped with a Reef Octopus Aquatrance 1800S pinwheel pump to produce the perfect mix of water and air for optimum waste removal.

The bioload of an aquarium refers to its ability to process waste relative to the tank volume. Protein skimmers work best when properly matched with the bioload of the system.

WARRANTY
CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Place the Classic 152-S in your sump, ensuring the water level is a constant 7 to 8 inches.
- Connect the airline from the silencer to the venturi on the pump intake.
- Plug in the pump; allow the skimmer a 24–48 hour "break-in" period for the acrylic to coat and bubbles to stabilize.
- Rotate the gated output valve to adjust the internal water level until foam reaches the base of the collection cup neck.
- Empty the collection cup and wipe the internal neck every few days to maintain peak efficiency.
Pro Tips:
Stable Water Depth is Essential.
Because the 152-S is a wine-body skimmer, it is more sensitive to water level fluctuations than straight-body models. Use an Auto Top-Off (ATO) system to keep your sump water at exactly 7.5 inches for the most consistent performance.
Keep the Venturi Clean. To maintain the 720 LPH air intake, check the pump's air intake nozzle every month. If you notice a drop in air bubbles, briefly run warm RO/DI water through the airline to dissolve any salt creep or calcium buildup.
Fine-Tune for Dry Skimmate. The 152-S excels at "dry" skimming. If you want a thicker, darker waste, lower the water level slightly using the gate valve so the foam has more time to dry out as it rises through the tapered body.
