- Power off the skimmer pump.
- Carefully lift the old collection cup off the wine-body skimmer.
- Remove your existing lid and drain plug and transfer them to the new replacement cup.
- Wipe the neck of the skimmer body with a damp cloth to remove any salt creep or debris.
- Press the new Classic 152-S cup firmly onto the skimmer body until it is fully seated.
- Ensure the drain plug is secure (if not using an external collector) and restart the pump.
Pro Tips:
Don't toss your hardware.
Since this replacement does not include the lid or the drain plug, it is vital to keep those parts from your original cup. Without the plug, skimmate will drain directly back into your sump.
Check the neck O-ring. The 152-S relies on a tight seal at the neck to maintain the air pressure needed for its wine-body dynamics. If the cup feels loose, inspect the O-ring on the skimmer body. A small amount of silicone lubricant can help achieve a better seal.
Clean the neck frequently. The tapered neck of the 152-S cup is designed to compress foam. If the inside of the neck is coated in thick waste, the foam will collapse. Wipe the neck every time you empty the cup to keep your skimmer performing at its best.
