- Turn off your VarioS-6S pump controller and unplug the power transformer supply from the wall outlet to halt water movement.
- If you are injecting ozone, switch off the ozone generator power line and safely close the gas feed valves.
- Gently slide the flexible silicone air intake tubing off the old venturi elbow's primary air nipple.
- Twist and pull the old, clogged venturi elbow away from the front suction face of the VarioS-6S skimmer pump.
- Take your new ROP-VS6S-ELB venturi elbow and press the metric slip socket firmly onto the pump's inlet mouth until it bottoms out securely.
- Re-attach your main air silencer hose to the primary barb. If using ozone, plug your ozone-safe feed line into the secondary port (if not using ozone, leave the secondary plug capped or sealed).
Pro Tips:
- Cap the Ozone Port if It Is Not in Use. If you are operating your Regal 250EXT or 300EXT as a standard skimmer without an ozone generator, ensure the secondary auxiliary ozone barb is completely sealed off. If left wide open, the massive suction vacuum from the VarioS-6S pump will drag unmetered, turbulent room air straight through that small opening. This disrupts the venturi's internal pressure matrix, causing your skimmer to produce uneven, coarse bubbles and making the water line jump up and down inside the body.
- Use a Carbon Block Post-Filter on Your Collection Cup. When injecting ozone gas directly into the VarioS-6S venturi elbow, a small portion of unreacted ozone gas will inevitably escape out of the ventilation holes on the top of your skimmer collection cup lid. Ozone gas inside a home can irritate your lungs and degrade nearby rubber equipment wires. Always place a small mesh bag filled with fresh, high-grade activated carbon pellets right over the collection cup lid vents to trap and neutralize escaping ozone before it enters your room air.
- Dissolve Salt Encrustation Without Scrubbing. Because raw atmospheric air and moist salt water collide directly inside the mouth of this venturi elbow, a hard ring of white salt crust will naturally accumulate right at the tip of the air barb over time.
