IceCap EZ ATO Replacement Power Adapter
Maintaining stable salinity in marine aquariums depends on continuous, automated replenishment of evaporated water. The IceCap EZ ATO Power Adapter (SKU: IP-ATOEZ-PSU) is the official OEM replacement AC/DC power transformer engineered specifically for the IceCap ATO EZ Automatic Top-Off System (DP-IC-ATOEZ).
The IceCap EZ ATO relies on an optical prism sensor array and a compact 12V direct-current refill pump to maintain water levels in the sump return chamber. Because the system's microchip controller and optical diodes demand consistent, noise-free current to register fluid levels accurately, using generic or improperly rated third-party power adapters can cause false optical readings, pump failure, or controller lockouts. The IP-ATOEZ-PSU delivers the precise voltage and amperage required to power both the optical logic and the brushless refill pump under head pressure. If an existing adapter has suffered from high cabinet humidity, power surges, or physical wire damage, swapping in the authentic IP-ATOEZ-PSU brings your evaporation management system back to full factory reliability.
Ideal Replacement Scenario
If your IceCap EZ ATO sensor fails to illuminate, resets continuously, cannot supply sufficient electrical current to turn the DC refill pump, or if the original wall transformer was damaged by water exposure or line voltage spikes, installing the authentic IP-ATOEZ-PSU restores safe, continuous top-off automation.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Unplug the damaged or malfunctioning power adapter from the electrical outlet.
Trace the power cord to the IceCap EZ ATO sensor junction harness and unplug the old DC barrel connection.
Inspect the receiver jack on the sensor harness to confirm it is clean, dry, and free of salt residue.
Insert the DC barrel plug of the new IP-ATOEZ-PSU firmly into the power input port on the ATO wiring harness.
Create an intentional drip loop along the power cord below the level of the wall socket.
Plug the transformer into a GFCI-protected AC wall receptacle or surge protector.
Observe the indicator LEDs on the optical sensor unit to confirm power initialization and verify regular top-off cycling.
Pro Tips:
- Isolate Power Plugs from Stand Humidity. Cabinet interiors housing open sumps experience high ambient humidity and fine salt spray that degrade unsealed power adapters over time. Plug your IP-ATOEZ-PSU into an outlet or power center mounted outside the sump cabinet or inside a sealed equipment compartment.
- Maintain a Mandatory Cable Drip Loop. Always arrange the low-voltage DC lead so that it dips down below the connection port before looping up to the sensor harness. This prevents water droplets from migrating down the wire and directly contacting the electrical pins.
