    • 100% Genuine OEM Factory Parts: Distributed directly by CoralVue as an exact physical fit for both first and second-generation Klir waste spools.
    • Prevents Diagonal Media Drift: Locks tightly against the outer borders of the fleece roll, forcing the fabric to wind up centered and square without telescoping.
    • Maintains Core Web Tension: Eliminates slack on the dirty collection spindle, ensuring crisp 7-second advance cycles whenever the sensor triggers.
    • Tool-Free Snap-On Integration: High-elasticity split-ring configuration flexes easily onto the spindle axle by hand without needing pins or tools.
    • Saltwater-Inert Material Build: Injection-molded from dense, marine-grade polymer resins that completely resist structural deformation, salt spray, and fatigue.

Klir by CoralVue provides automatic fleece filters that replace filter socks. They automatically advance 50-micron fleece when dirty, maintaining clear water with less maintenance.

Klir Automatic Fleece Filter V2 Replacement Waste Spindle Tension Collars

The Klir Automatic Fleece Filter V2 Replacement Waste Spindle Tension Collars (SKU: CV-KLIR-V2-TCLR) are authentic structural OEM replacement hardware accessories distributed by CoralVue to preserve accurate alignment and prevent tracking failures in automated mechanical filtration setups. Automatic fleece rollers offer an exceptional advantage over traditional cloth filter socks by continuously winding a non-woven fabric mat across the drain path to pull out organic waste before it breaks down into nitrates and phosphates. While the fresh fabric unspools smoothly from the rear, the motorized front waste spindle is responsible for actively pulling and coiling the heavy, water-logged dirty material. This matching pair of tension collars acts as the primary tracking guide on that collection spindle, clamping tightly against the left and right borders of the fabric roll to lock its winding path completely square.

Over months of routine maintenance and media changes, these split-ring collars are constantly pried open, slid along the axle, and handled in damp environments under your aquarium stand. Due to this regular physical strain, the original factory rings can eventually stretch out of shape, lose their tension grip, snap, or get dropped down hard-to-reach floor drains during a roll refresh. Replacing a broken or loose set with this factory original pair ensures that the wet, heavy fleece rolls up symmetrically. This exact positioning stops the fabric from drifting sideways or binding against the housing plates, keeping your mechanical filtration working automatically without error alarms.

    Key Features

    • Eliminates Costly Fabric Waste: Stops lopsided telescoping or creasing, ensuring that every linear inch of your replacement roll is fully and evenly saturated before winding forward.

    • Lowers Drive Motor Strain: Prevents the fleece from bunching up against the frame walls, minimizing physical resistance and protecting internal planetary gears from stripping.

    • Universal Spool Compatibility: Form-fitted to slide seamlessly onto the tracking axles of both the 4-inch (Klir Di-4) and 7-inch (Klir Di-7) factory waste collection spindles.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (2) matching replacement split-ring tension collars. Motorized waste spindles, smooth clean spandles, 12V DC motor blocks, and replacement 50-micron fleece rolls are sold under separate product categories).

    1. Unplug your automatic fleece roller filter's electronic smart controller from the wall outlet to prevent any unexpected motor cycles during maintenance.
    2. Lift the entire filter chassis straight up out of your sump tray panel, remove the motor block, and lift out the front waste collection spindle holding your dirty fleece.
    3. If replacing worn rings, slide them outward off the ends of the axle. Clean the spindle rod with a vinegar-soaked cloth to remove any calcified salt creep or hard mineral scale.
    4. Take your fresh CV-KLIR-V2-TCLR Tension Collars and gently pry the split-ring opening wide enough to snap them directly onto the center section of the spindle axle.
    5. Thread your fresh fleece onto the spindle, then slide the two tension collars tightly against the left and right fabric borders, sandwiching the roll perfectly centered in the middle of the rod.
    6. Re-engage the spindle into the gear-drive socket tracks, slide your motor block down, lower the filter back into your sump tray, and plug your controller back in.

    Pro Tips:

    • Never Use Pliers or Metallic Tools to Pry Open the Split Rings. When installing these new tension collars onto your collection rod, always flex the split-rings open using purely hand pressure with your fingers. Attempting to wedge a metal flathead screwdriver, pliers, or hardware tools into the plastic split gap to force them open can easily cause the polymer resin to experience rapid stress-fracturing or snap completely in half, voiding your direct arrival coverage.
    • Ensure the Collars Sit Flush to Stop Fleece Edge Creasing. When locking the collars down against a fresh roll, slide them flush against the outer cardboard edge of the fleece spool without crushing or bunching the fabric fabric. If you wedge the collars too tightly inward, they will crimp the outer edges of the 50-micron fleece. This crimping creates small creases along the tracking path that will trap air pockets or catch on the side plate tracking tracks, triggering false sensor warnings.
    • Keep an Extra Pair on Hand as Emergency Vacation Backup. Because these small black collars must be completely removed and repositioned during every single fleece roll swap, they are the most frequently misplaced small part in the fish room. Dropping one into a deep, dark sump chamber or accidentally throwing it into the trash can tucked inside a sticky roll of dirty fleece will completely disable your automatic tracking. Keeping a spare pair in your dry cabinet prevents unexpected system downtime.
