  • CoralVue 3 mil fish shipping bags are thick clear polyethylene bags that hold live fish and corals in transit.
  • Use them for larger fish, spiny fish, and heavier loads that need extra puncture protection in transit.
  • At 3 mil, the film is 50% thicker than a 2 mil bag, so it holds up better against punctures and tears.
  • It has double-sealed seams and FDA food-contact film like the 2 mil bags, in six sizes up to 15x24 in.

3 Mil Fish Shipping Bags for Large Fish, Spiny Fish, and Heavy Loads

CoralVue 3 Mil Fish Shipping Bags are thick clear polyethylene bags made to carry live fish, shrimp, inverts, and coral frags. A mil is one thousandth of an inch, so the film is 0.003 in thick, which is 50% thicker than the 2 mil bags. Like the 2 mil line, the film has metallocene resin for tear and puncture resistance, and the bottom seams are sealed twice.

The extra thickness adds protection when a bag holds a lot of water, a large fish, or an animal with sharp spines. The film is food-grade, BPA-free, and meets FDA standards for food contact. It is made in the USA by a family-owned factory. The 3 mil line comes in six sizes, from 4x16 in to 15x24 in, and each size is sold by the case.

Key Features:

  • Six sizes, from 4x16 in to 15x24 in, for small animals up to large fish
  • 0.003 in (3 mil) film, 50% thicker than the 2 mil bags
  • Clear film lets you see the animal and check the bag before you pack it
  • Bottom seams are sealed twice to help prevent leaks
  • Metallocene resin adds tear and puncture resistance
  • Food-grade film that meets FDA standards for food contact
  • BPA-free and made in the USA by a family-owned factory
  • Sold by the case: 1,000 bags for most sizes and 500 for 15x24 in

Ideal For:

  • Sellers who ship fish with sharp spines that could poke through thinner film
  • Breeders and Koi sellers who ship larger fish in the 10x20 in and 15x24 in sizes
  • Shippers who pack more water per bag and want extra film thickness

Pro Tips:

  • Double bag when the animal has sharp spines. Seal the first bag, then slide it upside down into a second bag and seal that one too. The thicker film helps, and the second bag is a backup if a spine does poke through.
  • Check each bag for leaks before you pack it. Set the sealed bag on a towel or newspaper for about 10 minutes. A slow leak will show up before the box is closed.
  • Pack the bags so they cannot move. Fill the empty space in the box with packing material. A bag that shifts in the box has more chance of getting rubbed or poked.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If you experience any issues with your food purchase shortly after receiving it, such as concerns about freshness, packaging integrity, or product quality, please contact us at [email protected]. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.

Instructions:

  1. Open the bag and add aquarium-safe water until it is about one-third full.
  2. Add the fish or coral.
  3. Leave the rest of the bag filled with air, so it is about two-thirds air.
  4. Grasp the top of the bag, twist it, and fold the top down.
  5. Secure the fold with a rubber band or tape.
