The Reef Octopus Regal 200-SSS (Super Space Saver) is the perfect solution for large-scale reef systems where sump space is at a premium. By mounting the powerful VarioS-4S DC controllable pump inside the 8-inch skimmer body, Reef Octopus has significantly reduced the required footprint without compromising the high-volume processing power required for tanks up to 400 gallons.
The Regal 200-SSS provides the surgical precision of DC control alongside the iconic Reef Octopus build quality. The included VarioS controller allows you to digitally fine-tune the air intake and water throughput, while the integrated float switch provides peace of mind by preventing overflows. Constructed from high-quality cast acrylic and featuring a precision gate valve for water level control, the Regal 200-SSS delivers professional-grade filtration in a remarkably compact form factor.

CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Ensure the VarioS-4S pump is securely mounted inside the skimmer body and the venturi is connected.
- Place the skimmer in your sump, aiming for a water depth of 8 inches.
- Connect the float switch to the controller and mount the sensor in the collection cup lid.
- Plug the pump into the controller and connect to power.
- Open the gate valve fully and set the pump speed to Level 3.
- Gradually adjust the gate valve until the foam line is at the base of the cup's neck.
- Allow 14 days for the skimmer to break in before final precision tuning.
Pro Tips:
- Check Your Metric Fittings. The Regal 200-SSS uses a 50mm Metric output. If you are hard-plumbing your drain, make sure to use a 50mm Metric Union or Coupling to maintain compatibility with the factory hardware.
- Maintenance in Tight Spaces. Because the pump is internal, keep an eye on the pump intake for stray snails or macroalgae that might enter the body. We recommend a 50/50 vinegar/water soak for the pump every 6 months to ensure the DC motor remains silent and efficient.
- Float Switch Placement. Always ensure the float switch is free of salt creep. A quick rinse during your weekly cup cleaning will ensure this vital safety feature is always ready to prevent an overflow.
