- Unplug your VarioS controller from the main power grid to temporarily deactivate all sensor alarms before handling the mount.
- Thread your existing VarioS float switch cable through the circular holder loop on the mount bracket and screw the sensor's native locking nut tightly underneath.
- Loosen the twin black nylon thumb screws on the upper hook bracket section of the ROP-VARIOS-FM mount.
- Slide the hooked bracket channel face-down over the edge of your preferred sump glass baffle or aquarium rim panel.
- Slide the inner vertical sensor track up or down to align the float exactly at your maximum safe high-water or low-water limit line.
- Hand-tighten the nylon thumb screws clockwise until the mount is locked rigidly to the glass, reattach your sensor cable, and restore system power.
Pro Tips:
- Never Tighten Nylon Hardware with Mechanical Tools. This safety bracket is designed to achieve a completely locked, slip-free structural hold using light fingertip pressure alone. Never use wrenches, pliers, or socket tools to crank down on the black nylon screws. Excessive structural leverage will strip out the soft plastic threads or instantly split the acrylic frame of the mount, rendering the clamp useless and potentially putting unsafe point-load pressure on your sump glass divider.
- Clean the Slider Track During Your Monthly Sump Check. Because your mount sits right at the turbulent splashing intersection of the water line, a fine, crusty glaze of evaporated salt creep and biological slime will naturally dry inside the vertical height-adjustment tracking channels. If left uncleaned for several months, this mineral scale can cement the slider block in place. Give the mount a quick rinse under warm fresh water during routine maintenance to keep the slider gliding effortlessly.
- Orient the Sensor Float Shield Face Upward. When anchoring your float switch inside the holder loop of this bracket, make sure the protective plastic splash sleeve or float guard ring is positioned correctly to deflect falling droplets or breaking bubbles. If your sump features a high-flow drain line nearby, placing the mount too close to direct water spray can cause rapid microbubble tracking to lift the float prematurely, triggering unnecessary system shutdowns. Position the mount in a calm, baffled chamber whenever possible.
