In humid under-cabinet environments, power adapters can suffer from salt creep corrosion, power surge damage, or fluid spills, resulting in loss of pump operation.
This factory replacement transformer converts standard household AC current into the precise DC output required by the IceCap 3K controller module. Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Disconnect the old power transformer from your wall outlet or surge protector.
Unplug the existing DC barrel connection from the bottom of the IceCap 3K controller module.
Plug the new IC-GP3K-PS DC barrel connector into the power input jack on your 3K driver housing until fully seated.
Connect the 3-prong AC cord to the transformer brick and plug it into a grounded 120V outlet (drip loop recommended).
Verify that the controller LCD powers on and displays active wave settings.
Pro Tips:
Always Form a Drip Loop. When plugging the power supply into a wall outlet or power strip near your aquarium, form a safety drip loop in the AC cord below the level of the outlet. This prevents stray water drops or salt creep from traveling down the wire into electrical sockets.
Keep Transformer Brick Elevated. Mount or place the power transformer block on an interior cabinet wall using Velcro mounting strips rather than leaving it on the floor stand. Keeping electrical components off the floor protects them from accidental sump overflows and spills.
