The IceCap 3K/4K Black Propeller Set (A+B) (SKU: IC-GP4K-PROPA-B) is the official factory replacement paddle set designed specifically for IceCap 3K and IceCap 4K Gyre Flow Pumps. Over time, calcium carbonate buildup, snail shell fragments, or accidental impact can chip or wear down gyre propeller blades, leading to unbalanced rotation, excessive noise, and reduced water movement.
This matched set includes one "A" directional propeller and one "B" directional propeller. The opposing blade orientations are precision-molded to create the signature cross-flow gyre pattern that moves massive volumes of water across the entire length of the aquarium. Molded from durable black ABS plastic, these replacement propellers resist saltwater degradation and maintain structural integrity under continuous operation.
Installation Note
Always ensure that the propeller marked A is installed on side A of the motor housing and propeller B is installed on side B. Reversing the propellers will drastically reduce water output and alter the intended directional flow pattern.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Disconnect power to the IceCap 3K or 4K Gyre Pump controller and remove the pump from your aquarium.
Remove the outer cage assemblies on both sides of the center motor block.
Slide the worn or damaged propellers off the ceramic shaft assembly.
Match the directional markings on the new propellers with the corresponding side of the motor housing (A to A, B to B).
Slide the new IC-GP4K-PROPA-B propellers firmly onto the drive shaft, reattach the cages, and return the pump to your tank.
Pro Tips:
- Clean Propellers During Monthly Maintenance. Soak the propeller blades in warm white vinegar or citric acid solution every 30 to 60 days. Removing coralline algae and organic film prevents weight imbalances that cause motor noise and premature shaft wear.
- Check Bushings During Replacement. When replacing propellers, inspect the small rubber shaft end-bushings inside the cage housings. Ensure all 4 rubber bushings are seated properly before powering the unit back on to maintain whisper-quiet operation.
