Molded from heavy-duty, reef-safe black ABS plastic, the ROP-AQ901000-V attaches directly to the intake volute of the Aquatrance 1000S pump. Its internal geometry features a calibrated venturi throat that accelerates incoming raw aquarium water across the air nozzle opening. This velocity increase generates a localized vacuum that draws atmospheric air through the intake tubing, where it is instantly chopped into a cloud of micro-bubbles by the pinwheel impeller. This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

Installation & Maintenance Guidelines:
Disconnect power to the Aquatrance skimmer pump and remove the skimmer from the aquarium rim if necessary.
Disconnect the flexible 5/16-inch silicone air tubing from the venturi elbow's barbed air stem.
Gently twist and pull the old venturi elbow away from the pump volute cover.
Inspect the pump inlet and volute seal for sand, debris, or calcium deposits; wipe clean before installing the new component.
Align the new ROP-AQ901000-V elbow squarely onto the AQ-1000S pump intake port and press firmly until fully seated.
Slide the 5/16-inch air tubing securely over the integrated air barb until it seats flush against the barb base.
Reattach any intake strainer or siphon piping associated with the BH-90 or BH-1000 HOB configuration.
Prime the skimmer body with aquarium water according to the skimmer manual, then restore power to the pump to verify smooth water intake and dense micro-bubble generation.
Pro Tips:
- Soak in Diluted Citric Acid to Dissolve Venturi Salt Clogs. Because the venturi nozzle draws dry air directly across moist saltwater, evaporated salt crystals naturally form inside the tiny air barb over time. If your skimmer's air intake diminishes or the pump begins surging, remove the ROP-AQ901000-V and soak it in a warm bath of citric acid or white vinegar for 20 minutes. Use a pipe cleaner or soft plastic pick to clear the narrow internal nozzle bore completely before reinstalling.
- Inspect the Slip Joint for Air Leaks. When sliding the venturi elbow onto the pump volute, verify that it seats fully flush and straight. A loose or crooked connection at the pump intake can pull false air around the joint instead of drawing vacuum through the barbed venturi nozzle. This reduces air velocity through the silencer line, weakens micro-bubble shearing, and can cause the HOB skimmer to lose its prime during brief power interruptions.
