- Ensure all three 40mm metric pipe ends are cut square and thoroughly deburred.
- Clean the pipe ends and the internal sockets of the tee with a dedicated PVC cleaner.
- Apply a layer of PVC primer to the pipe ends and all three internal sockets of the tee.
- Apply a consistent coat of heavy-duty PVC solvent cement to both the pipe and the sockets.
- Push the pipes into the tee until they seat fully, giving a slight quarter-turn to ensure even glue distribution.
- Hold firmly for 45 seconds. Allow at least 4 hours of cure time before introducing high-pressure water or full drainage flow.
Pro Tips:
- Metric vs. Standard 1.5-Inch. A 40mm metric tee will not fit standard US 1.5-inch pipe. 40mm is approximately 1.57 inches, while US 1.5" pipe has a 1.90-inch OD. Always confirm your pipe diameter with a caliper before beginning a permanent solvent weld.
