    • Cross-Standard Bridge: Connects 32mm metric spigot/pipe lines directly to standard 1-inch North American imperial (Schedule 40/80) PVC systems.
    • Spigot x Slip Configuration: Features a 32mm male spigot (fits inside a 32mm metric female socket) on one side and a 1" imperial female slip socket on the other.
    • Aquarium-Grade Black uPVC: Neutral dark aesthetic integrates cleanly with professional sumps and custom cabinetry manifolds.
    • 100% Reef Safe Materials: Molded from premium, virgin unplasticized PVC (uPVC) free from toxic plasticizers and heavy metal stabilizers.
    • Perfect Hydraulic Alignment: Precision injection molded to ensure a smooth, step-free internal bore that maintains flow velocity and reduces noise.

CoralVue 32mm Metric to 1in Imperial PVC Adapter

Plumbing high-end European or Asian aquarium equipment in North America frequently presents a major headache: standard domestic pipe sizes (measured in inches) will not fit metric fittings (measured in millimeters). The CoralVue 32mm Metric to 1" Imperial Adapter (SKU: ROP-BM32) is a specialized, professional-grade solution engineered to resolve this exact bottleneck. Whether you are connecting a metric Reef Octopus protein skimmer output, a European return pump, or a custom imported sump to your local Schedule 40/80 manifold, this adapter serves as a seamless, high-integrity bridge.

Molded from heavy-wall, aquarium-grade black uPVC, the ROP-BM32 utilizes a highly functional 32mm spigot x 1" slip design. The 32mm metric side is a male spigot (meaning it has the same outer diameter as a 32mm metric pipe) designed to insert directly into any standard 32mm metric female slip socket (such as a metric union, ball valve, or tee). The opposite side is a standard 1-inch US imperial female slip socket, ready to accept standard 1" Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 rigid PVC pipe. By utilizing this single-piece molded adapter, you avoid the messy stacks of bushings and adapters that invite localized pressure drops and potential leak points.

    Key Features

    • Molded Visual Ring Labels: Features clear, printed contrast bands on the body marking the "Metric Size" and "U.S. Size" ends for error-free installation.

    • Concentric Swept Transition: The internal bore is engineered to smoothly step down the fluid column, minimizing dynamic turbulence and head-loss noise.

    • Heavy-Wall Construction: Industrial-grade injection molding handles full return pump pressure loops and structural plumbing loads under the cabinet.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (1) individual standalone ROP-BM32 adapter fitting. Solvent primers, cements, and piping are sold separately).

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If you experience any issues with your food purchase shortly after receiving it, such as concerns about freshness, packaging integrity, or product quality, please contact us at [email protected]. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.

    1. Verify that your metric side connection is a 32mm female socket (such as a metric elbow or union) and your imperial side is 1" US rigid pipe.
    2. Clean both the adapter ports and the mating plumbing ends with a dry cloth.
    3. Apply a thin, even layer of PVC primer to the outside of the 32mm metric spigot end of the adapter and the inside of your receiving 32mm metric socket.
    4. While wet, apply PVC solvent cement over the primed metric areas and push the spigot into the socket with a 1/4 turn to spread the glue. Hold for 15 seconds.
    5. Apply PVC primer to the inside of the 1" imperial slip socket of the adapter and the outside of your 1" US pipe.
    6. Apply PVC solvent cement over the primed imperial areas, insert the 1" pipe fully into the slip socket with a 1/4 turn, and hold for 15 seconds.
    7. Let the solvent-welded joints cure undisturbed for a full 24 hours before filling your system with water or running pump pressure tests.

    Pro Tips:

    • Understand the Spigot vs. Socket Difference.
CRITICAL AQUARIUM PLUMBING DESIGN TIP: The 32mm metric side of this adapter is a male spigot (street fitting), not a female socket. This means it cannot receive a 32mm metric rigid pipe directly. It is designed to slide into a 32mm metric female socket. If you need to connect a 32mm metric pipe directly to this side of the adapter, you must place a standard 32mm metric female-to-female coupling inline first.
    • Always Use PVC Cement Suited for Both uPVC and PVC. When bonding imports (which often use dark gray/black uPVC) to domestic white Schedule 40 PVC, choose a high-quality, medium-bodied PVC solvent cement (such as Weld-On 711 or Oatey Rain-R-Shine) along with a dedicated primer. This ensures a deep chemical solvent weld across both plastic formulations.
    • Keep Your Manifold Stress-Free. Transitioning between metric and imperial pipe can sometimes result in stiff, heavy pipe runs that place mechanical stress on your bulkhead seals or equipment nozzles. Ensure both the metric and imperial pipe legs are fully supported by pipe clamps or hangers within 12 inches of the adapter to prevent long-term stress fatigue.
