Reef Octopus Q7 Commercial Foam Fractionator
Designed for large-scale aquatic facilities, the Reef Octopus Q7 Commercial Foam Fractionator (SKU: OCT-Q7) delivers heavy-duty organic removal for system volumes ranging from 12,500 to 18,000 gallons. Built to handle intense biological loads in public aquariums, zoological exhibits, and commercial aquaculture recirculating systems, the Q7 continuously strips dissolved organic compounds (DOCs), proteins, and fine particulates before they break down into toxic ammonia and nitrate.
The Q7 features a 31.5-inch diameter hybrid acrylic body with a conical transition neck that reduces internal turbulence and lowers head pressure on the recirculation pumps. Mixing inside the 130-gallon reaction chamber is driven by four external Bubble Blaster HY-10000s pinwheel pumps equipped with wear-resistant silicon nitride ceramic shafts.
Low-Maintenance Commercial Engineering
To eliminate frequent manual teardowns, the OCT-Q7 comes equipped with an integrated 15-watt twin-blade neck cleaner that continuously wipes the riser neck interior. This prevents organic sludge build-up and maintains optimal foam riser efficiency around the clock.
(Note: This commercial unit requires an 8–10 week production lead time and ships via freight pallet due to its size and weight).

CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Uncrate and inspect the skimmer on a reinforced, level concrete pad capable of supporting over 1,200 lbs of operating water weight.
Install the four Bubble Blaster HY-10000s pumps onto the lower union connections using the provided silicone seals.
Connect your feed pump lines (recommended 5,280–8,000 GPH feed rate) to the dual 1.5-inch or single 2-inch inlet ports.
Plumb the 3-inch (90mm) PVC discharge line with the gate valve to your sump return or drain manifold.
Connect the 14.5-gallon collection cup drain line to a floor drain or dedicated waste containment reservoir.
Power on the feed pump to fill the main chamber to a 12.24-inch output level before energizing the four Bubble Blaster pumps.
Pro Tips
- Recommended Feed Pump Pairings. For optimal 1.5-minute retention time inside the 130-gallon chamber, pair the Q7 with two Reef Octopus Water Blaster HY-10000 return pumps to feed raw system water into the inlets.
- Automate the Twin-Blade Wiper. Connect the 15W twin-blade motor to a digital timer set to run for 1–2 minutes every 4 hours. This clears organic oils off the 14-inch neck walls without interrupting foam head formation.
- Ozone Compatibility. The Q7 features integrated venturi ports built directly into the pump air intakes for ozone injection. If feeding ozone, ensure gas output is metered through an ORP controller to maximize clarity while protecting live stock.
