The Reef Octopus Elite 200-S is the flagship of compact, high-capacity filtration. Designed for large reef systems up to 400 gallons, this "Space Saver" model integrates the powerful VarioS-4S DC controllable pump directly inside the 8-inch reaction chamber. This engineering feat allows you to run a massive 8-inch skimmer in sump compartments that would normally only accommodate much smaller units.
The Elite 200-S is defined by its Super Cone body. Unlike standard cylindrical designs, the Super Cone tapers naturally to stabilize the foam column as it rises toward the neck. This reduces internal turbulence, leading to a much higher concentration of organic waste and a cleaner "dry" skimmate. With the added intelligence of the VarioS controller—featuring a safety float switch and 0-10V integration—the Elite 200-S offers the perfect combination of commercial processing power and residential-friendly dimensions.

WARRANTY
CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Verify the VarioS-4S pump is securely mounted inside the Super Cone body and the venturi is properly attached.
- Place the skimmer in your sump, aiming for a stable water depth of 8 inches.
- Mount the float switch in the collection cup lid and connect it to the controller.
- Plug the VarioS-4S pump into the controller and connect to the power supply.
- Open the geared gate valve fully and set the pump speed to Level 3.
- Gradually adjust the gate valve until the foam line is at the base of the cup's neck.
- Allow 14 days of break-in time for the acrylic to fully stabilize.
Pro Tips:
- Check Your Metric Fittings. The Elite 200-S uses a 50mm Metric output. For a professional, hard-plumbed drain, use a 50mm Metric Union to connect the skimmer's output to your sump system for easy removal during cleaning.
- Internal Pump Maintenance. Because the pump is housed inside the body, organic debris or small snails can sometimes get trapped in the intake. We recommend a full teardown and vinegar soak of the VarioS-4S pump every 6 months to maintain peak efficiency.
- Controller Calibration. If using a 0-10V third-party controller, remember that speed 1 on the VarioS controller is approximately 2V. Ensure your Apex/GHL profile stays within the 2V–10V range to prevent the pump from stalling.
