Reef Octopus Replacement Light Reactor Power Supply (SKU: ROP-LR-PWRS)
The Reef Octopus Replacement Light Reactor Power Supply (SKU: ROP-LR-PWRS) is an authentic OEM electrical utility component distributed by CoralVue to sustain continuous macroalgae cultivation and biological nutrient export. Macroalgae reactors depend entirely on a daily high-intensity photoperiod to fuel dense columns of Chaetomorpha algae, which aggressively pull nitrates and phosphates right out of your aquarium water loop. Because these filtration reactors are located inside wet, enclosed sump cabinets, their electrical accessories face non-stop exposure to extreme humidity, salt spray, and heat. Over years of operation, internal transformer circuits will naturally degrade, wall prongs can corrode, or accidental splashing can cause a catastrophic short-circuit. Swapping out a compromised power unit completely resets your lighting security.
Molded from premium, fire-rated polymers, the ROP-LR-PWRS delivers the exact voltage and amperage requirements necessary to power the signature triangular internal LED array of the Light Reactor 150 (LR-150) and Light Reactor 200 (LR-200) systems. It acts as a direct, tool-free replacement brick that plugs seamlessly into the light tube's inline barrel jack. By restoring a stable, ripple-free current to your lighting stick, this power adapter ensures your algae scrubber never experiences unexpected blackout periods—protecting your system's natural pH stabilization and nutrient-harvesting schedules.
Key Features
Protects Premium LED Lifespans: Suppresses incoming household wall current spikes, delivering smooth electrical lines to keep delicate light tube diodes from prematurely burning out.
Eliminates High-Frequency Humming: Replaces worn-out internal transformer coils with a fresh, factory-shielded circuit to restore quiet operation inside your stand.
Instant Direct Plug Integration: Standard inline female barrel output socket links directly to your existing factory light stick layout without wire splicing.
(Note: This retail SKU contains (1) standalone replacement power supply adapter block with an attached wall utility cord. Replacement LED triangular light tubes, adjustable dimming intensifiers, circulation pumps, and acrylic reactor columns are sold under separate product categories).

- Unplug your damaged or dead light reactor power brick from your wall outlet or aquarium controller strip.
- Locate the inline barrel connector join link where the power supply cord plugs into the main wire lead coming out of the reactor's LED light tube.
- Unthread or pull the old barrel jack connections apart to completely isolate and discard the spent power adapter block.
- Take your fresh ROP-LR-PWRS power supply out of its box and inspect the output plug to ensure it is clean, dry, and completely free of any salt creep or packaging dust.
- Push the barrel plug of the new power supply firmly into the light tube's input line. Pro Tip: If your reactor model includes an inline intensity controller wheel dial, plug the power supply into the controller inlet, and the controller outlet into the light tube.
- Mount the new power block onto an interior cabinet wall using a secure hook-and-loop strip (completely clear of open water zones), construct a protective drip loop in the cord, and plug the prongs back into your wall timer to resume normal macroalgae growth.
Pro Tips:
- Always Install a Dedicated Drip Loop on the Power Cord. Because this transformer bridges the gap between your high-voltage home wall socket and a water-filled filtration reactor, you must construct a physical drip loop in the power cord. To do this, ensure the power cord sags downward in a low "U-shape" before traveling back up to plug into your electrical outlet. If aquarium water ever splashes onto the wire or leaks down the line during a maintenance cleanup, the water will trail harmlessly down to the bottom of the loop and drip onto your floor instead of tracking straight into your hot electrical socket and causing a short-circuit.
- Keep the Power Supply Brick Completely Mounted Out of Salt Creep Zones. While the internal LED lighting stick inside your reactor is built to handle internal humidity, this ROP-LR-PWRS power adapter brick is completely non-waterproof. Leaving the transformer block sitting loose on the floor of your sump closet where it can get sprayed by micro-bubbles or blanketed in salt creep will cause rapid electrical failure. Always mount the power supply up high on your stand walls or cabinet ceiling using a mounting bracket or heavy-duty mounting tape to keep it completely dry.
- Never Plug the Power Supply Into a Dimming Socket Not Rated for Reef Octopus Gear. If you want to adjust or dial back the growth rate of your Chaetomorpha algae by reducing the brightness of your LED core, never plug this power supply into an external household lamp dimmer or light switch controller. Trying to dim the input voltage going into this specialized brick will instantly cause the internal capacitors to overheat, fry the circuitry, and void your factory warranty. To safely adjust your reactor's light output, always use the dedicated Octo Adjustable Light Intensifier Dial wired inline on the low-voltage DC side of the loop.
