IceCap Dual Aquarium Heater Holder (IC-HH02S)
The IceCap Dual Aquarium Heater Holder (SKU: IC-HH02S) is an authentic, safety-driven equipment management solution distributed by CoralVue to organize under-cabinet sumps and eliminate structural hazards in modern freshwater and marine systems. Aquarium heaters are arguably the most critical—yet physically dangerous—components hidden inside filtration chambers. Traditional factory-included plastic clips rely on thin suction cups that easily dry out, harden, and snap loose over time. When a loose heater drops onto its side, it can easily press its high-temperature element directly against fragile acrylic baffles, melting structural joints or causing the built-in internal thermostat to misread local current flow, run constantly, and drop the water line via evaporation until it fractures or runs dry. The IC-HH02S steps in to provide a rigid, secure alternative.
This heavy-duty bracket organizes your layout by holding two separate glass or titanium heater elements side-by-side in a single, space-conscious footprint. Measuring 4.6 x 3.6 inches, it easily slides into tight return pump sections or dedicated skimmer baffles. The oversized 1-inch circular slots gently support your heaters while maintaining an open water buffer around the hot zones to maximize heat dissipation and flow turnover. Whether you are running a main heating element alongside a secondary backup element controlled by an advanced apex or standalone IceCap Dual Controller, this bracket locks your equipment perfectly in place, giving you complete peace of mind behind closed cabinet doors.
Key Features
Prevents Catastrophic Dry-Runs: Rigid structural alignment keeps your heater elements perfectly vertical and submerged, preventing them from floating up or getting kicked sideways by high-flow pumps.
Optimized Thermal Turnover: Open-front circular channels maximize water contact across the entire surface of the heating element, speeding up heat transfer and boosting energy efficiency.
Modular Multi-Staged Fitting: Accommodates a maximum mounting glass/wall thickness threshold of up to 3/8-inch (3/8in) for clean, stable positioning when pushed flush against interior sump dividers.
(Note: This accessory includes the standalone dual-heater plastic mounting bracket and removable structural suction cups. Titanium heating elements and electronic temperature controller modules are sold under separate product categories).

- Unbox your IC-HH02S bracket and rinse it under fresh tap water to clear any packing static. Insert the base stems of the included suction cups into the back mounting track holes if using a suction layout.
- Thoroughly scrape and clean the interior surface of your sump glass or acrylic baffle where you want to mount the holder. Any built-in algae or salt creep will prevent the suction cups from gripping properly.
- Unplug your aquarium heaters and let them cool down completely for 10 minutes before handling them.
- Carefully slide your dry heating elements down through the circular 1-inch cutouts on the holder bracket, positioning them so the main heating coils line up with the open center zone.
- Push the fully loaded holder assembly firmly against your sump glass, ensuring it sits low enough that the water level always stays well above the minimum fill line marked on your heaters.
- Route your heater power cords neatly out of the sump with a dedicated drip loop, plug them back into your electronic temperature controller, and double-check that the bracket feels perfectly stable under active flow.
Pro Tips:
- Clean Your Sump Glass Thoroughly Before Sticking Down the Suction Cups. The most common reason a heater bracket slips or detaches in a sump is invisible biofilm and fine dust gathering on the glass panel. Before pressing the holder down into place, use a razor blade or a clean magic eraser to scrub the target mounting wall completely smooth. This simple prep step ensures the rubber suction cups form an airtight, long-lasting grip that won't give out under high flow.
- Pair This Dual Bracket with Dual Titanium Elements for Complete System Redundancy. Rather than relying on one single large heater (like a single 300W element) to warm your entire tank, use this dual holder to split the job between two smaller heaters (like two 150W elements). Hooking up two independent elements to a dual-stage controller ensures that if one heater fails or gets stuck off, the second element can easily step in to keep your tank from freezing, keeping your delicate livestock safe.
- Check the Silicone Cord Grips Annually for Mineral Deposits and Salt Creep. Over months of continuous exposure to salt water spray inside a cabinet sump, salt creep can slowly accumulate within the bracket seams. During your regular equipment cleanings, pull the entire holder out, slide the heaters out of the rings, and soak the bracket in a 50/50 warm water and white vinegar bath for 30 minutes. This dissolves any crusty mineral buildup, keeping the plastic flexible and easy to adjust during winter maintenance.
