IceCap AIO 120 All-In-One Nano Protein Skimmer (IC-AIO120)

The IceCap AIO 120 Protein Skimmer (SKU: IC-AIO120) is a high-performance, ultra-compact nano waste extraction system distributed by CoralVue to bring advanced direct-current foam fractionation into rear-compartment filtration layouts. Standard protein skimmers feature sprawling circular footprints and wide plumbing gates that are impossible to fit into the cramped rear chambers of all-in-one desktop aquariums. The IC-AIO120 bypasses these physical limits completely by utilizing a spacesaving square body profile. This allows nano hobbyists to aggressively manage dissolved organic compounds, fish waste, and organic lipids before they can break down into troublesome nitrates and phosphates.

Beneath the clear acrylic faceplates of the AIO 120 sits the controllable DCAIR-200 DC pinwheel pump. Running on safe, low-voltage 12V current, this compact engine draws a meager 5 watts of power while pulling a highly efficient 100 liters of air per hour directly into the water column. The pre-installed inline controller puts full fine-tuning power at your fingertips, allowing you to instantly ramp the pump's rotational speed up or down to accommodate your system's specific biological load. Combined with an easy-to-lift off collection cup and an adjustable hanging slider bracket, the AIO 120 delivers full-scale skimmer features in a package tiny enough to keep your main display pristine and uncluttered.

Key Features

  • Novel Side Output Flow Tracking: Forces water to exit lower in the reaction chamber and below the active surface line, keeping your back compartments splash-free.

  • Durable Cell Cast Acrylic Build: High-grade polymer formulation resists yellowing and embrittlement, easily handling the rough conditions of localized saltwater filtration zones.

  • Friction-Adjustable Cup Ring: Uses a simple, thick-gauge rubber O-ring along the neck column to smoothly change collection heights without dealing with fragile locking threads.

  • (Note: This self-contained nano skimmer includes the main body housing, DC pump assembly, inline speed controller, air silencer, and power supply brick. Side magnetic mounts are sold separately under alternative parts layouts).

Verified Biological Load Ratings

  • Heavy Bioload Settings: Rated for intensively fed or heavily stocked nano fish systems up to 10 Gallons.

  • Medium Bioload Settings: Rated for standard soft coral or community nano setups up to 20 Gallons.

  • Light Bioload Settings: Rated for low-nutrient frag tanks or sparsely populated layouts up to 30 Gallons.

 > Official Assembly Instructions

  • Unpack the AIO 120 skimmer body, remove the collection cup, and pull out any internal cardboard shipping dividers from the lower bubble plate.
  • Align the intake nozzle of the DCAIR-200 pump with the receiving port at the bottom base of the skimmer body, routing the power cable up through the integrated side tracking slots.
  • Position the open mouth of the venturi line toward the skimmer, gently pushing the air intake pipe into the side hole until it links cleanly with the pump suction cover.
  • Slide the adjustable mounting bracket into the rear vertical channel tracking, locking it at your initial depth preference by turning the nylon set screw clockwise until snug.
  • Place the skimmer body straight down into your aquarium's designated rear filter chamber, hang the hook over the glass edge, and tighten the thumbscrews hand-tight.
  • Mount the non-waterproof inline controller and power transformer outside the stand using a defined safety drip loop, attach the power cords, and press the power pad to initialize skimming.

Pro Tips:

  • Do Not Adjust the Pump Settings During the Initial 2-Week Break-In Window. Like all high-grade protein skimmers, a brand-new AIO 120 requires an initial break-in period of at least 14 days to shed microscopic manufacturing films and static charges left over from the acrylic cutting tables. During this break-in frame, your foam column will naturally fluctuate, occasionally popping early or over-foaming aggressively into the cup. Keep your collection cup pushed up into a higher safety position and let the pump run at a steady mid-range speed without touching the controls to let the plastic surfaces naturally cure and stabilize.
  • Keep the Pump Power Cable Pinned Inside the Rear Tracking Slots. When lowering your skimmer into a tight, dark rear filter compartment, a loose power cord can easily drift out of place and get caught underneath the pump's lower intake volute. This pinches off incoming water flow and can cause annoying vibration rattles against the glass wall. Always make sure you press the thin power cord firmly into the built-in tracking clips running down the backside of the square acrylic frame to keep your lines clean and out of harm's way.
  • Flush the Small Air Silencer Weekly to Remove Crystalline Salt Creep. Because nano all-in-one filtration areas feature very high evaporation rates inside tight, humid spaces, fine salt spray can easily make its way into the small air silencer capsule. Over a few weeks, this moisture dries out and forms a hard salt crust right around the internal air path. This starves the needlewheel pump of air, causing the skimmer's water line to skyrocket and flood the cup. Simply pull the silicone air line free once a week and flush the silencer with a dash of warm fresh water to keep your airflow lines open.
