- Hand-Tighten Only. Never use heavy pipe wrenches, channel locks, or metal pliers to tighten this adapter down onto your pump volute. While the thick wall casing is incredibly strong, the structural threads are cut from precision polymer PVC. Forcing the connection with metal tools can easily cross-thread the alignment, pinch your internal o-ring out of its channel, or warp the plastic fittings entirely.
- This is Metric 32mm, Not Imperial 1-Inch. Keep in mind that Reef Octopus equipment is manufactured utilizing standardized global metric tooling dies. The slip socket of this adapter measures exactly 32mm in inner diameter. It will not directly fit standard American Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 imperial 1-inch PVC pipe (which measures roughly 33.4mm outer diameter). If you are adapting this hardware to a custom American PVC manifold layout, you must use a dedicated metric-to-imperial conversion adapter.
