In large-scale reef systems, a thick layer of organic "mud" can quickly coat the skimmer neck, creating a friction barrier that prevents waste from entering the collection cup. The CL300F utilizes a motorized, industrial-strength dual-blade assembly to clear this waste multiple times per day. This consistent cleaning maintains an unobstructed foam path, which has been shown to significantly increase the volume and concentration of skimmate removed from the aquarium. This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Remove the stock collection cup lid from your Regal 300 series protein skimmer.
- Carefully transfer your original factory float switch to the pre-drilled port on the CL300F lid.
- Attach the twin-blade squeegee assembly to the drive shaft of the motorized cleaner lid.
- Seat the CL300F lid onto your collection cup, ensuring the blades are centered and clear of the neck walls.
- Connect the power transformer to the motor and plug it into an automated timer or controller.
- Program your cleaner for short bursts (15–20 seconds) roughly four times per day.
Pro Tips
Short, frequent bursts are the key to longevity. The CL300F is so effective that 20 seconds of rotation is more than enough to clear the 12-inch neck. Frequent short cycles (every 6 hours) are much better for the motor than long, continuous runs.
Use a large external waste collector. Because the CL300F keeps your skimmer running at 100% efficiency, the cup will fill significantly faster than with manual cleaning. A secondary waste container with its own shut-off is highly recommended for systems of this size.
Periodic blade maintenance. Every few months, remove the silicone blades and rinse them in warm freshwater. This prevents the buildup of hardened salt or grit on the squeegees that could eventually scratch the acrylic surface of the skimmer neck.
