Available Through Authorized Retailer
Optimized for 18-Inch Planted Aquariums: Measures a full 18 inches to deliver continuous, end-to-edge full-spectrum illumination across compact planted tanks (such as 10-gallon, ADA 45P, rimless nano tanks, and custom 18-inch aquascapes).
Proprietary Plantlyte Spectrum: Precision-engineered blend of full-spectrum daylight, enhanced deep red, and photosynthetic blue wavelengths to drive vigorous chlorophyll A and B synthesis.
High-Density LumiLite PRO Diode Array: Packed with tightly spaced surface-mount micro-LEDs that eliminate disco-ball color separation while producing uniform, wide-angle light spread.
High CRI Visual Clarity: Enhances the natural coloration of aquatic plants, hardscape driftwood, and tropical fish without washing out delicate green and red hues.
Passive Extruded Aluminum Heatsink: Ultra-slim aircraft-grade aluminum chassis silently radiates thermal energy upward, keeping tank water cool without failure-prone fans.
Automation & Dimmer Ready: Fully dimmable and easily paired with Reef Brite inline rotary dimmers, Bluetooth LE modules, or 0–10V aquarium controllers.

Reef Brite 18-Inch LumiLite PRO Plantlyte LED Strip Light
Illuminating an 18-inch nano planted aquarium or shallow aquascape with central clip-on fixtures often results in uneven spotlighting, dark perimeter corners, and harsh shadows beneath hardscape woodwork. The Reef Brite Lumi Lite PRO 18" Freshwater Aquarium Light - Plantlyte (SKU: RB-LLPRO18-PL) is the official OEM linear LED fixture engineered specifically for 18-Inch Planted Aquariums, Nano Aquascapes, and Refugium Setups.
Spanning 18 inches, the RB-LLPRO18-PL provides continuous, edge-to-edge linear coverage across small display footprints. Rather than relying on generic cool-white LEDs that can encourage nuisance algae while flattening natural plant coloration, Reef Brite’s proprietary Plantlyte spectral profile concentrates photon emission into the photosynthetic absorption peaks of chlorophyll A (430nm and 662nm) and chlorophyll B (453nm and 642nm). This targeted delivery stimulates compact internodal growth in stem plants, accelerates horizontal spread in carpet varieties like Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo', and enhances vibrant red hues in species such as Ludwigia palustris and Rotala H'Ra. Simultaneously, a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) reveals the fine textures of aquatic mosses, dragon stone, and schooling nano fish such as chili rasboras and neon tetras. Fabricated with a black anodized extruded aircraft-grade aluminum chassis, the fixture acts as an integrated passive heatsink, operating completely silently and dissipating heat upward away from the water column without mechanical cooling fans.
Ideal Application & Upgrade Scenarios
If you are designing an ADA 45P or 10-gallon high-tech aquascape, upgrading a small freshwater canopy from inefficient compact fluorescent or incandescent fixtures, or seeking an ultra-slim supplemental strip to boost PAR in a nano planted system, the RB-LLPRO18-PL provides high-efficiency photosynthetic output in a refined, low-profile form factor.

Installation & Operating Guidelines:
Unbox the fixture and verify that the 18-inch aluminum housing, DC lead cord, and power adapter are undamaged.
Determine your preferred mounting method:
Tank Rim Mounting: Slide the adjustable stainless steel mounting legs into the side extrusion channels at both ends of the fixture and rest them securely on the aquarium rim.
Canopy Mounting: Fasten the fixture to the inner wooden framework of your canopy using mounting clips or L-brackets, ensuring the LED surface sits at least 2 to 4 inches above the water line.
Align the light strip so the diodes project directly downward across the entire length of the substrate.
Plug the low-voltage barrel connector from the fixture lead directly into the female plug of the included DC power supply (or connect via an optional inline dimmer/controller).
Establish a drip loop along the power cord below the electrical socket to prevent condensation or water droplets from running into the wall outlet.
Connect the power supply to an AC wall receptacle, digital lighting timer, or smart controller outlet.
Set an initial photoperiod of 6 hours daily, gradually increasing to 7–8 hours as plant biomass expands and nutrient uptake stabilizes.
Pro Tips:
- Dial in PAR for Shallow Nano Aquascapes (ADA 45P). In shallow nano aquariums measuring 10 to 12 inches deep, photon penetration to the substrate is exceptionally high. When establishing new plantings of delicate foreground species, running the fixture at 100% intensity immediately can trigger green dust or diatom blooms before plants take root. Pair the light with an inline dimmer or Bluetooth controller set to 50%–60% output during the first three weeks of cycling, gradually dialing up the power as root systems anchor.
- Synchronize Photoperiod with Carbon Dioxide Delivery. Because the Plantlyte spectrum delivers intense photosynthetic stimulation, mismatching light duration with carbon dioxide availability can invite green dust or staghorn algae. When running pressurized CO2 on an 18-inch planted system, ensure the gas solenoid engages 1.5 to 2 hours before the lights power on so dissolved CO2 reaches roughly 30 ppm the moment illumination starts, and switch off CO2 one hour before lights out.
