The Reef Brite Lumi Lite PRO 8" Freshwater Aquarium Light - Plantlyte (SKU: RB-LLPRO8-PL) is the official OEM linear LED fixture engineered specifically for Planted Nano Aquariums, High-Tech Aquascapes, and Refugiums.
While conventional freshwater lights often rely on basic daylight diodes that encourage nuisance green algae, the LumiLite PRO Plantlyte array utilizes a specialized spectral blend. It targets the primary absorption peaks of chlorophyll A (430nm and 662nm) and chlorophyll B (453nm and 642nm) while maintaining a high Color Rendering Index (CRI). This ensures stem plants, mosses, and rosette plants produce rich green and deep red foliage while presenting fish and aquascaping hardscape in natural, vibrant detail. Built into a slim, extruded aircraft-grade aluminum profile, the fixture operates completely silently without noisy fans, shedding heat upward to prevent warming small volumes of nano water. The fixture mounts cleanly via adjustable wire legs resting on the tank rim, or it can be integrated directly under custom canopies and shelf displays.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Installation & Operating Guidelines:
Unbox the fixture and verify that the aluminum housing, DC lead wire, and power adapter are intact.
Insert the adjustable mounting legs into the side channels on either end of the aluminum extrusion.
Place the fixture over the aquarium, sliding the legs inward or outward so the brackets seat securely over the glass rims.
If mounting inside an enclosed canopy or above an open bowl, use the rear mounting groove to affix the fixture to your mounting surface at least 2 to 4 inches above the water line.
Connect the low-voltage barrel lead from the light fixture directly into the female plug of the included DC power supply (or connect via an optional inline dimmer/controller).
Establish a drip loop along the power cord beneath the electrical outlet to prevent moisture travel.
Plug the power supply into an AC wall outlet or digital lighting timer.
Set initial photoperiod to 6 hours daily, gradually increasing up to 8 hours as plant biomass expands and nutrient uptake stabilizes.
Pro Tips:
- Balance Photoperiod and CO2 Injection to Prevent Algae. Because the Plantlyte spectrum delivers concentrated PAR tailored for plant uptake, running the light for too long without sufficient CO2 and nutrient dosing will favor green spot algae or hair algae. For newly established planted aquascapes, limit initial photoperiod to 6 hours per day. Once root structures establish and stem plants show active growth, increase the photoperiod to 7 or 8 hours maximum, pairing peak light with pressurized CO2 injection.
- Pair with an Inline Dimmer for Shallow Desktop Bowls. In ultra-shallow tanks or open Wabi-Kusa bowls where the water depth is under 8 inches, full-intensity output may overpower low-light species like Anubias or Cryptocoryne. An inline rotary dial dimmer or Reef Brite Bluetooth controller lets you scale diode intensity down to 60%–70%, preserving vivid leaf coloration while preventing leaf scorching.
