Spanning 36 inches, the RB-LLPRO36-B delivers continuous, edge-to-edge supplemental illumination that bridges the lighting gaps between primary fixtures. Equipped with a high-density array of surface-mount micro-LEDs, the fixture emits Reef Brite’s signature 450nm Actinic Blue spectrum. This targeted wavelength excites green and red fluorescent proteins throughout soft corals, LPS, and SPS corals, bringing out intense coloration while supplying photosynthetically active radiation to support healthy growth. Because the diodes are arrayed closely across the entire 3-foot strip rather than focused through tight secondary lenses, the fixture casts a soft, uniform sheet of light that wraps around dense branching structures without creating localized hot spots. This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Installation & Operating Guidelines:
Carefully unpack the fixture and inspect the 36-inch aluminum housing, DC lead cord, and power adapter for transit damage.
Choose your mounting configuration:
Tank Rim Mounting: Slide the adjustable stainless steel legs into the side extrusion channels at both ends of the fixture and adjust to fit securely over your tank's perimeter rim.
Canopy Mounting: Fasten the light bar to the underside of your canopy framework using mounting clips or L-brackets, ensuring the LED surface remains at least 2 to 4 inches above the water level.
Position the fixture so the micro-diodes project directly downward across the entire reef footprint.
Connect the barrel plug from the fixture's lead cord into the female receptacle of the included DC power supply (or install an optional inline dimmer/controller module inline).
Route the power cord with a drip loop below the electrical receptacle to stop water droplets from tracking into the wall socket.
Connect the power supply to an AC wall outlet, digital timer, or smart energy bar.
Set your initial photoperiod to run alongside your primary daylight cycle, or establish an independent dawn/dusk channel.
Pro Tips:
- Stage an Independent Dawn/Dusk Transition Channel. Because the 450nm Actinic Blue spectrum provides rich fluorescence without contributing to the white spectrum that fuels nuisance film algae, program the RB-LLPRO36-B to turn on 1 to 2 hours before your primary daylight fixtures ignite in the morning and remain on for 1 to 2 hours after they extinguish at night. This provides a low-stress, visually captivating twilight period that allows you to observe polyps fully extended.
- Angle Dual Strips Around T5 or Cluster Pucks. On 36-inch reef tanks measuring 18 inches wide (such as a 40 Gallon Breeder display), mounting two 36-inch LumiLite PRO bars—one along the front rim tilted slightly inward and one along the rear—creates an intersecting field of blue light. This cross-angled orientation wraps actinic light beneath horizontal coral plates, eliminating shadows on lower Acropora branches while highlighting polyp extension on front-facing tissue.
