The Reef Brite X Series Dual Add-on Kit can be added to select LED aquarium lights to bring out incredible color and fluorescence in corals, anemones, and other invertebrates while promoting growth. Using the included hardware, the X Series Dual Add-on Kit integrates seamlessly with the existing lighting to maintain a sleek look and comes complete with a universal hanging kit. It is compatible with Ecotech® Radion®, AI® Hydra®, Kessil® A360x, A500x, AP9X, and AP700 fixtures with no drilling or special tools required.
Designed to span standard 36-inch footprints (such as 40 Gallon Breeder, 50 Gallon, and 65 Gallon systems), the RB-X36DUAL flanks your central LED lighting with two 36-inch Reef Brite XHO (Extra High Output) Actinic Blue LED bars. Powered by 72 high-efficiency 3-watt diodes driven conservatively for prolonged service life, the system projects sheets of targeted 450nm and 470nm violet-blue light inward from both the front and rear perimeter. This linear light path eliminates harsh shadowing and diffuses hot spots while intensely exciting green and red fluorescent proteins (GFPs and RFPs) throughout the coral tissue. Utilizing an anodized aluminum bracket chassis, the system accommodates EcoTech Radion (XR15 and XR30 across all generations), AI Hydra, and Kessil pendant fixtures using provided hex standoffs, preserving your primary light's independent height and orientation.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Installation & Assembly Guidelines:
Power down and disconnect your primary LED fixtures from AC power, placing them face-down on a soft, padded work mat.
Assemble the RB-X36DUAL aluminum bracket frame, securing the cross-bars to the endplates using the supplied machine screws.
Attach the supplied M4 threaded aluminum hex standoffs to the mounting points of your primary LED fixture (Radion, Hydra, or Kessil).
Align the bracket frame over the standoffs and secure the central fixture to the hybrid assembly using the corresponding retaining screws.
Fasten the two 36-inch Actinic Blue XHO LED bars to the front and rear perimeter channels of the bracket, ensuring the reflector optics face downward.
Connect the power leads from each 36-inch XHO bar into the output receptacles of the 2-way DC Y-splitter cable.
Connect the single lead of the Y-cable to the inline rotary dimmer, then attach the dimmer to the dedicated DC power supply.
Suspend the completed hybrid fixture over your aquarium using the included wire hanging kit (or integrate into an existing canopy mounting rail).
Plug in both the primary light and Reef Brite power supplies, and adjust the inline dimmer knob to balance supplemental actinic intensity with your primary photoperiod.
Pro Tips:
- Angle Reflector Bars Inward to Maximize Branch Under-Canopy Lighting. When securing the two 36-inch XHO bars into the endplate channels, angle the light housings inward roughly 10 to 15 degrees toward the central rock scape. This cross-angled trajectory directs high-excitation actinic photons directly beneath horizontal coral shelves, ensuring that light reaches lower branches without throwing wasted PAR or glare onto the front viewing glass.
- Gradually Acclimate Corals to Supplemental Hybrid PAR. Adding 72 high-output 3-watt diodes introduces a substantial increase in total photosynthetically active radiation across the 36-inch footprint. To avoid light shock or photoinhibition in sensitive Acropora colonies, start the inline dimmer dial at 40% to 50% intensity for the first two weeks, gradually rotating the dial up over a 3- to 4-week acclimation window.
