The collection cup sits at the very top of your skimmer's column, serving as the landing zone for the thick, organic sludge produced by the Aquatrance pinwheel pump. Because this component is removed, handled, and washed under the sink frequently during weekly cleanings, it faces the highest risk of accidental damage. Dropping the cup into a porcelain sink can cause hairline fractures around the collar, crack the main body, or snap the molded drain fitting. This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

- Turn off your skimmer's Aquatrance pump to stop the active foaming process inside the main neck.
- Carefully pull the damaged or dirty collection cup straight up and out of the skimmer body neck housing.
- Slide the original rubber neck O-ring off your old collection cup and check it for cracks or flattening.
- Wipe the O-ring clean, stretch it gently over the new ROP-CC-BH1000 replacement cup body, and slide it to your preferred height setting.
- Secure your original skimmer lid onto the top rim, push the new cup down into the skimmer neck, and plug the drain port if you aren't using an external line.
- Turn the pump back on and slide the cup up or down along the O-ring line to set your dry or wet foam preference.
Pro Tips:
- Clean the Acrylic with warm, fresh water only. When cleaning organic waste out of your new collection cup, rinse it with warm tap water or RO/DI water only. Never wash your skimmer cup with chemical detergents, window cleaners, rubbing alcohol, or dish soaps. Harsh household chemicals leave behind thin surface films that are highly toxic to marine life and can instantly cause clear acrylic to crack or craze over time when exposed to salt water.
- Never Over-Tighten Your Drain Line Fittings. If you connect an external drain hose to the bottom port of your collection cup, slide the flexible tubing onto the barb gently. Do not torque the plastic barb sideways or use heavy zip-ties or metal screw clamps. Acrylic is a rigid material, and applying uneven twisting force or excessive clamping pressure to the bottom drain joint can crack the base of the cup, causing permanent leaks.
- Keep the Outer Neck O-Ring Lightly Lubricated. If you find it difficult to slide your collection cup up and down to adjust your skim level, do not force it. Forcing a dry cup against a dry rubber O-ring can cause the rubber to bunch up or pull the neck of your skimmer out of alignment. Rub a tiny, paper-thin layer of reef-safe silicone lubricant or a drop of pure aquarium water around the O-ring to let the new cup glide smoothly into position.
